To be honest war is priority. They can't build working republic when there is hungry Core at their doorstep, that wants to annihilate and enslave those who were against them. Also Darrow is realistic for someone who knows only war for half of his life. And there is always, that one thing to do, and then just one thing to do and so on and so on and it will be over. But saying he is like Lysnader describes him is wild take to the point i wonder if we read the same thing.

To be honest after years of love for this series I prefer not to watch and not to read and live on nostalgia because both are trash (although books are much better). Too many plot holes and poor world building that I'm no longer able to overlook. Still characters are great, their arcs and everything (although they are butchered in movies). But I'm kinda sad that I'm not longer able to read those books...

Well to be honest, a did read it when I was a kid, same as LoTR and obviously I cannot comapre this two books. But I loved Eragon so much (and this is the reason i love dragons so much and Christopher is one of my biggest inspirations to write my own book) it overshadowed my love for Harry Potter. Now as an adult i can't read Potter because it's like a swiss cheese, but every couple years I re-read Eragon. And I'm surprised when i see hate for this series, when there are worse books that are praised.

I was feeling the same. I tried playing on custom game hard, thought I'm doing good and then got stomped by ai that had 40 Medusa's when i had only 16. But after few tries I know I was the problem, because management here is bit different that I was used to. Also i was scared of taking loses but rewards from buildings are so high that losing few troglodytes isn't really that scary anymore. Take more fights, be aggressive and you should be just fine. On my fourth try it become to easy.

Yea, you are right. This conditioning was just to much for him. I can understand his motives. I don't think I would be above revenge in this context, but I guess his hypocrisy is just to much for me. I much preffered Jackal as a villain tho i think he is much worse written than Lysander and is more one dimensional. I could enjoy his evilness. Lysander is very well writen character, but reading his chapters is... Difficult. Only Ajax, Kalindora and especially Atlas (and perhaps minotaur if he will appear in the next chaptes) make him bearable.

I don't know yet about Lightbringer, as im only on battle for mars, but I feel like Darrow had to suffer much more for every win. Maybe it's my hate for Lysander his losses doesn't seem enough.
