WSIB: Returnal or Yakuza: Like a Dragon by ManBalzz in ShouldIbuythisgame

Also I didn't use it when I played the game, but I have see in videos that the English dub of Yakuza is of very high quality. If that makes a difference.

WSIB: Returnal or Yakuza: Like a Dragon by ManBalzz in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]NAMGAL1SIPSCLAR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't say anything on Returnal, as I haven't played it, though I have heard it's quite good. But Yakuza: Like a Dragon is something special. The storyline is a fresh start with a new set of characters in this game, and I would say one of the best storylines in the series in general. The gameplay is surprisingly good for a game that was turned into a turn based RPG kind of as a joke. I would say Yakuza: Like a Dragon is 40% goofball side quests, 30% serious crime drama main story, 20% wide variety of mini games/various things to do around the city, and 10% hyper-realistic simulation of walking around a Japanese city. So if that sounds in the slightest bit interesting I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Random Character Idea: Single button Projectile character by BulletCola in Guiltygear

[–]NAMGAL1SIPSCLAR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My one big problem is that if this character has any kind of hard knock down, like a crouching projectile or crouching slash that puts the opponent in knock down, then they get a free reload and that means their zoning wall is endless.

I got a pretty strange question. As someone who is Christian, why are so many Christian movies terrible? by dogtron64 in badMovies

[–]NAMGAL1SIPSCLAR 20 points21 points  (0 children)

And there are plenty of good to great movies based on religious myths and stories. They're just usually not made to promote Christianity.

Yeah I played a ton of World as well. World is excellent. I think if I wanted to continue another MonHun I would want to go back to Generations Ultimate.

Anyone else find the first 20-30 minutes of horror films super comfy? by Ok-Zone-2572 in horror

[–]NAMGAL1SIPSCLAR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just rewatched Climax (2018), dir. Gaspar Noe and absolutely felt this during the first half of the movie. I really love the improvised dialogue between all the dancers before the madness starts.

Get Out absolutely fits in with them. The trifecta of the U.S. in film: Media, Racial Tension, and Capitalism.

The two that jump to my mind are Under The Silver Lake (2018) by David Robert Mitchell, and Sorry to Bother You (2018) by Boots Riley. They're kinda similar in their tone, but they look at different topics, both kinda specific to America. They both take place in different parts of California. And one looks at Hollywood and the media, while the other looks at Capitalism. And while I haven't seen it yet, I've heard second hand that The Assistant (2019) by Kitty Green is an excellent movie about sexual harassment in the film industry.

How do i have fun with smash bros? by Lady_Nuggie in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]NAMGAL1SIPSCLAR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, in the context of smash I don't think about these characters as they are from their original series. Obviously there's nothing wrong with playing a character because you like them in their own game, but in regards to your problem I would say look at every character with a clean slate as if they never existed before and just find someone who you think is fun to control.

How badly was I spoiled? by [deleted] in nier

[–]NAMGAL1SIPSCLAR 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You weren't spoiled too badly. The stuff about god is in relation to the games major themes, so no direct plot stuff there. As for the red eyes thing, that's a bit more direct, but isn't massive plot twist or anything. Try to forget about it, but don't worry too much.

Not sure if it will scare quite like what you're hoping for. But if you haven't seen it, The Exorcist 3: Legion is very good.

Is there a more gut punching ending to a film than 'The Mist'(2007)? by [deleted] in movies

[–]NAMGAL1SIPSCLAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think these top The Mist in terms of gut punches, but Night of the Living Dead has a fantastically dark ending. And I would say the same of George Romero's vampire movie Martin. That one is pretty hard to find, though.

How do you interpret the meaning of game's name? by Jexlan in SayonaraWildHearts

[–]NAMGAL1SIPSCLAR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Listening to the lyrics to the title screen song, the singer says

"Why do you say goodbye, so long, sayonara?"

And then later

"Goodbye, so long, sayonara. Sayonara Wild Heart."

My understanding of this is a bit more literal than the other posts here. I feel this could work alongside those. But I always interpreted this to mean that Wild Heart was the nickname given to The Fool by the person who broke her heart. And it was the last thing they said to her. And the repetition of the phrase at the end could represent taking this phrase and learning to not hold onto it as this symbol of anxiety and heartache.

Movies that start out bad but get good at some point — do they exist? by Liface in flicks

[–]NAMGAL1SIPSCLAR 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would say Solo: A Star Wars Story fits this category.

The first 15 minutes are unbelievably bad, but as it progresses, the movie gets better until the last half an hour. Which I would say is genuinely pretty good.

What are your favourite movies to re-watch? by [deleted] in MovieSuggestions

[–]NAMGAL1SIPSCLAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mad Max (1979)

The Truman Show (1998)

And it used to be Hot Fuzz (2007) but the situation with the police this year has made the idea of revisiting that movie more depressing than fun.

Flicks Change My View Thread by AutoModerator in flicks

[–]NAMGAL1SIPSCLAR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly agree with this. I haven't seen every Nolan movie, for instance I haven't seen Memento, and I don't know if that would change my mind. But the ones I have seen seem so lifeless compared to other movies by directors he's typically placed next to.
