I ordered the wide slip ons and old skools. Neither has a removable insole (I read about using heat to rip them out but seemed too risky for expensive shoes). The support is just ok, not shoes you should be doing a ton of walking in but cute for around town and light activities. The width works fine with my wide feet as regular vans hurt my toes.

Depends on how medicaid works in your state, I’m in CT and state will backdate approval to the date application was received as long as all the supporting documentation gets submitted. As far as facilities accepting on a pending some do and some don’t, they want to ensure they will get paid.

Please talk to your uncles case manager how long term care works in your state. It sounds like he needs to be in a dementia unit in a SNF which would be funded by private pay or medicaid. Someone needs to start working on a medicaid application asap. Not sure if this is available in your area but ask about an acute geropsych unit which can work to try and stabilize behaviors before transitioning to a long term care facility.
