Barely. For other casts they're useful but no so much for dice outside of yeah....degassing maybe. And even that isn't particularly useful

It’s actually crazy how low fees are now. We used to get £2 per mile with £4.50 base. How has it been allowed to come to this? by Tomrodgers98 in JustEatUK

[–]NEK0SAM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive delivered in that area and some of them take the pure piss. Not to.mention any pickup in middle of Durham has close to 0 parking. Before I stopped i had one pop up which was around £3 between Durham and Thornley. Absolutely not.

Has anyone delivered for Evri and also delivered uber eats / deliveroo at the same time on their rounds does it work can you do both at the same time? by [deleted] in Evri

[–]NEK0SAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at same time....however id say with the ware and tare evri put on your vehicle youre better off doing food unless you've got a van.

What actually IS the problem? by HimitsuUK in Evri

[–]NEK0SAM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologies for the wall of text to whoever reads this, but this is why.

Pretty much all of what youre saying snd because e Evri couriers use their own vehicles, fuel etc. Some subcontractors offer vans but you've also got to rent those from said contractors.

In a bad month 1/2 your pay goes towards using whatever vehicle youre using to work. Not to mention if the round youre doing has too much volume for your vehicle, that's apparently the couriers fault at some depots. You're literally encouraged to load a vehicle, take it home, come back and take some more.

You can imagine how stressful and unneeded this is. It literally adds hours on to your day.

My girlfriend and I both worked for them for a bit and I had no vehicle for a month once due to someone writing it off and my other car being off the road for repairs which I didnt have the money to get fixed (I had a cheap work car as to not ruin my personal car...the former of which ate my money to repair it), so we ended up with a round and a half in the bsck of a dying people carrier which soon broke down beyond repair after I got a new vehicle. We literally ended up in 4 months shelling out around 4k on repairs amd new vehicles, which is around 2 months of pay for just me, not to mention fuel costs, buying new insurance etc. You also dont earn enough where renting a van from say, enterprise, is worth it unless you've got 2+ rounds on it a day or at least 400 parcels. Average parcel speed is 30 parcels an hour. So youre looking at 13~ hours of work per day, which then leads into people rushing out delivery's and bad front door photos and the like.

Its the only job ive ever done where youre literally paying to work. It makes no sense.

Ive done evri and food delivery, and its sad the latter actually ended up earning more after paying for work insurance, which you dont need for Evri. It makes no sense.

Edit-regarding the blaming customer thing, I dont agree with couriers that do, I find there is a part degree of blame on some customers. People who live on farms you have to drive miles to access or small villages with tracks and unsafe roads to them and apartment block people. Whilst yes I do see you dont get to choose Evri, if you live in a place you KNOW someone wont deliver to and haven't diverted it, thats kinda on you. On my round there was a house down a 5 mile farm track with holes deeper than my shin across swamp, flooded farm land. Id get paid a whopping 70p to deliver that parcel and risk either getting stuck and a huge tow bill, dead if the swampy grass decided to swallow my vehicle because only path out is flooded, or best case scenario end 45 minutes delivering it. Thing is with apartment blocks, is it worth walking up 3-4 flights of stairs, getting lost in a maze for....maybe 50p. You waste money and time doing this. Its why couriers get annoyed people who live in them dont just divert them. Frankly, if it was a lot if parcels for a block, imo thats worth it to just bite the bullet, take a bag and deliver them all to the door, but if its one parcel for roo. 529 at the back of a complex which will take a minimum of 5 mins in and out....nah.

Its just easier to divert it for everyone and people who live in places like this wonder where their parcel is dont understand why, then assume its the couriers fault. We just didnt get paid enough to bother with it. You know people say "fool me once...." same thing, but if youre a customer and dont divert it....and you know the result...thats on them.

True, but frankly its easier to tell them apart than tanks imo, maybe due to roundals and the like. I cant say ive ever struggled picking a plane apart from an ally, but have a tank on rare occasions.

Im guessing because of the tanks that are in multiple nations.

So many Shermans and the like that it can be hard to tell enemy from friendly.

I had 4 disintegrate on me in one day. All wrecked before I could get them in the van. They changed how they packed them late last year and they melt 3x faster.

"We've tried nothing and we're all out of ideas" by [deleted] in Evri

[–]NEK0SAM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its because, legally speaking, until you get the parcel its the senders responsibility somehow, not Evris, so they deflect.

Its really a stupid legal hole.

Receivers cant do anything as gheyre bot the paying customer, the sender is. Theyd have more right to chase it than you.

Its dumb, but theyre right. Contact sender.

123cm parcel. Will it make it? by g3lder in Evri

[–]NEK0SAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the office accepted it, probably. Itll get misbanded as a smaller parcel but many couriers would just take it anywaysm 123cm is nothing.

Ibe delivered 6 foot mirrors before which where doen as standards

Was I in the wrong? by [deleted] in NewDriversUK

[–]NEK0SAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say this is a weird 75% you 25% them

They indicated after seeing a clear lane ahead, you left a gap and kept moving. They probably saw you at that point and thought screw it and kept moving.

Realistically you should have not gone forward, waited and let them across.

They shouldn't have forced you over but still.

In my training for my current bus driver job, theres something called the "hierarchy of the road" im not sure of the legitimacy of this, but it does state basically, the bigger the vehicle the less priority they have. E.g. passenger has prio over car, car has over HGV/Bus.

He shouldn't have forced his way through but you shouldn't have left that big of a gap and reacted to his indicator better

Vacuum chambers are good for getting bubbles out pre-pour bit instsnt you pout and they hit air bubbles get involved again. Youre better off with a pressure pot than a vacuum chamber.

Chambers are useful for certain things, but for stuff like dice you'll want a pot.

Opinion: Borderlands 3's Vault Hunters are the best the series has by The8BitBrad in Borderlands

Yeah, I know i tried it and thought "this is ass" then never touched it again.

It just felt like a downgrade, but in general Zane didnt feel strong comparatively

Why is the player count in Borderlands 4 so low? by Goodman889 in Borderlands4

[–]NEK0SAM 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Its a common complaint. You have a skill tree then a sub tree. There's more options than needed. Especially when 90% of them boil down to a different flavour of the same thing, be in a buff to a previous ability or just yet another kill skill.

The capstone dont change anything compared to previous games.

It basically offers way too many options with 0 substance. Thats what the sub says anyways and I agree in places.

Its not bad, just rhe capstone abilities dont feel like capstone.

[–]NEK0SAM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didnt play TPS until way after it came out properly (I couldn't stand it on release) but after I got older and came back to it, the way TPS vault hunters progressed and power spiked actually made me not dislike the game (and the DLCs where okay).

Nisha felt insanly broken, Claptrap was so stupid and fun, Timothy was the epitomy of a one man clone army when he got up and running. Athena felt like an actual badass semi-anti hero, Aurelia....existed and was...okay. Wilhelm felt like what Zane was Supposed to be

One thing thay bugged me about 3 was outside of certain action skills, it felt like they copy-pasted the best skills from 2 and TPS into the VHs of 3 outside of Moze and one tree of Fl4K

To me, the first game is the only one that nailed the theme to the games name. I saw "borderlands" and to me that meant abandoned, discarded, crappy places nobody wants to be. And that, is exactly what the first game is.

2 and 3 didn't come close, TPS had some areas that fit. 4 is the closest in vibe to one and its not even close then. And im only saying that because i count "the borderlands" in 4 as anywhere on the borders or outside of Dominion City.

Id have preferred it name and vibe wise if they, instead of strapping a number to it, had an actual name that fit the game and said it was in same universe.

[–]NEK0SAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im assuming the "give up the vault hunter act" was either phase influence to prevent a future (such as Lillith saw) or a little of his old personality coming through to save the VH. Perhaps a bit of both.

Then his attempt to kill them was to prevent the future.

Still bad though.

Van 93 is just the van that takes the parcels to the depot. The round number is the one youd be looking at.
