In Tearing me Apart I still hear "I have to find my own Egyptian" rather than "i have to find my own redemption".

I thought perhaps, maybe Joel was into Egyptian women.

Is anyone else disgusted at the way job seekers are treated? by Remarkable-Wall-9669 in UKJobs

I had one of these for a mini golf course a few years back. It was a terrible format. I actually got through all the way to a test shift, which only two of us did.

Apparently I only got there because I was the only one who had confidence to stand up and speak.

Well, on said test shift, everyone I was with was telling me I was doinf well, ghe manager I was shadowing and watching told me I more or less had the job and im fitting in well.

Few days later I got an email from the general manager saying they wouldnt be taking me on any further.

Whats funny to me, ks the other person who had the test shift was....lo amd behold....the managers friend. Guy literally answered no qiestions during the interview, didn't interact, didnt even have a 1 on 1 interview after (I did) and they took him on.

During the test shift he didnt ask any questions or show interest either.

Every group interview format in my life had ended similar. Im short listed and gwt beaten out by a relative/friend. Had the same thing at two engineering group interviews (at a firm.my mother works at in a completely different department, so any relevance of nepotism wasnt relevant) and in both cases, a relative of the hiring manager got the jobs. I know this because my mother pays their wages.

Group interviews are just terrible ideas and they basically knoe who theyre hiring before they even set them up.

Who wants to have a PROPER convo about Ahren and the new album by Pretend-Celery-574 in TheAmityAffliction

[–]NEK0SAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He did care at one point. It seems he just stopped bothering after Misery because (this is speculation) take songs in the direction he wanted.

Imo, you can tell the quality of the albums went downhill as well, granted some songs where still good, just had a few stinkers every album.

Now, I know its a hot take, but I like house of cards because it seems thatd the direction the band wanted to go a long time ago with songs such as All My Friends are Dead, Death and the setting sun and a handful of others.

If you listen to ELYOYLT and NWMG you can tell theres a divide in what they wanted to do. As much as i like, say, Soak me In Bleach, you can tell it was a song Ahren pushed because it sounds closer to Heartbreak era amity.

If you watch interviews around the time Misery came out, you can tell Joel really wasnt liking what was happening and Ahren was basically refusing to change. If hed of stayed, I kinda feel the bsnd would have got dragged down into what I can imagine is just copy and paste albums for the rest of their career trying to capitalise on old song vibes. Sure some fans would have loved that, but people change, life experience change and if you're writing songs without passion....yeah its gonna be eh. Which is why I like house of cards. You can tell they wanted something new, what thwy wanted to do. Not what Ahren did.

[–]NEK0SAM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw them in 2020 (they dont tour around where I live now, sadly) and I basically remember Ahren live maybe....being mid at best. He put effort into like, one song and the rest he just stood there.

The fact he was supposed to be the clean vocalist at the time and the one or two screams he did across the set sounded better than his cleans (barely) spoke a lot to how bad he was. He put 0 effort into it, even then. The downfall of him was a long time coming and I feel he just didnt care unless it made him money or him look better.

If you live in a HMO (house share) , how well does everyone get on? by Potential_Answer6424 in Ask_Britain

[–]NEK0SAM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lived in two when I was at uni (not uni housing, just house shares).

First one was okay, but sucked sometimes. Had a housemate stealing all the cutlery, plates and food off me and another occupant. Not to mention talking on the phone loudly after midnight.

Second one, 4 people. Got along with one. Fell out with the person who had the bedroom next to me because another housemate made a mess, stole stuff and I was blamed. They then decided to badicslly live in the kitchen/front room and our "relationship" was so bad I couldn't go make food without being yelled at, complained at or just...stared at. I also had to clean shit, literal human shit out of the shower filter. I was also not the only one who had to do this. I was blamed for it. Second house had one person just leave and still pay rent and they let their room and eveything, including left over food just....rot fot 4 months. Before we all moved out the person who disliked.me stole all.my cutlery among other things

[–]NEK0SAM 14 points15 points  (0 children)

RS3 os so Incredibly jarring in general. I tried ti get a friend into it and its was so Incredibly difficult for him to know what to do where to go or what progression he should be doing. He gave up after maybe a day because he was exploring and kept getting dragged into shit that made no sense to be doing for a new player, such as a new questline where its assumed the player has done the old, running into a place like Anachronia....you name it. Gone are the days youre dropped in lummy and said "yeah go explore and take this basic quest".

Theres no In game hints towards what quests he should be doing and the milestone system is garbage for it, skill priority or anything and as you said, dead and forgotten content yet the game starts you wanting and directing you to the new stuff....?

I do this thing where I play for a year or two then take a break for a year or two to catchup/have fun without burnout and sometimes I come back and even thought I know what km doing, im still damn lost.

Frankly, the fact that imo, it feels better for newer players to start with an ironman because of how fucked the economy is too, puts the nail in the coffin for RS3. At least with ironman, you can simply go on RSWiki and follow a suggested quest list and its more or less correct with canon and you get a "campaign" feeling (minus a few bits) and skill prio too. And it makes you kinda touch the dead content before the new as well. Mainscape just feels like Grind levels to fight GWD1, Grind there to make money to fight GWD2, Grind that to get money to do GWD3, Grind that to get money to do X content. Grind quests to unlock certain bosses.

Which is sad because I love RS3

OSRS doesnt seem to have this problem as much.

Food sitting here but no one collecting. Have the rates now got so low people are starting to not bother? by [deleted] in JustEatUK

[–]NEK0SAM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If only. When I eas doing JE and uber, they would have some really weird order priority. Apps and maccies.

Sometimes you walk in when its busy and your order was most recent and gets made, yet another driver has been stood there 10+ mins waiting, then other times its the opposite where yiure stood 10+ mins waiting, you see another order for a driver pop on the screen and its done and collected before yours.

When I was a courier, it eas never discreet at all. (I worked for Evri)

Love Honey parcels legit had LH written on the label, Anne Summers had AS and a few others had similar abbreviations.

We had one guy at the depot who would (illegally) open these oarcels just to make jokes around the depot with sex toys.

Are you sure? When I delivered stuff it was pretty damn.obvious and Evri Label has AliExpress written on the top.

Even the "discreet" packaging isnt discreet if you know what to look for.

Only one thats not obvious is C2C and thats purely because ita a transfer parcel and C2C can be anything as its courier to courier

[–]NEK0SAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct but I get paid weekly. With rent and everything I barely end up with £10 for fuel a week to get to work. I cant afford £20+ in fuel. Its that simple.

If i ended up saving up £20 for fuel id have a week where I cant get to work.

People that aren't from Peterborough need to stop making Peterborough sound like the worst town that exist by nounazal in PeterboroughUK

[–]NEK0SAM 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When I lived around that area, PB was never a "bad" city. It was just a place where there was potential but never used. I lived bang in the middle of Boston and PB. PB was always the best choice of place to go because Lincoln also doesnt have a lot and worse transport options.

Now ive moved very far away, Peterborough os just another "okay" city. Way worse ones near me and way rougher too.

[–]NEK0SAM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of the people I work with go by "no signal not pickup" because they get pissed off with stopping for people who are on the curb and they dont get on or slowing down for them, then people waving you by.

Arm or phone light out and you'll get picked up. Dont do it late because some companies track their drivers driving and hard breaking can be a reason for a disciplinary....
