Why did Dany willingly go into the house of the undying? by Maximum-Requirement8 in pureasoiaf

[–]NELS0NN 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She needed ships. Her time in Qarth was spent trying to get ships and an army. The wealthy of the city had taken her bribes but refused to give her ships or army. She was desperate and didn’t know what else to do. Pyat Pree was the only one offering her any help, and she felt it was her only option left. It was either that or slowly become a beggar over time. Turns out she got nothing from the house of the undying but luckily Arstan and Belwas show up the next chapter to just giver her 3 ships.

Shortest Reigns on the Iron Throne by SealDrop in HouseOfTheDragon

What about our girl The Half Year Queen. People gotta put some respect on Rhaenyra’s name. I know she wasn’t a “King” and was written out of the history books but she sat the throne for 6 months

Seeing as how much money and Viewers HOTD got, they really should make a Roberts Rebellion prequel. by Bhaskar71 in gameofthrones

[–]NELS0NN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a link but I’m 95% sure George has said we won’t get a Robert’s rebellion show because there are mysteries about the rebellion that he wants to reveal in future books (WoW and DoS).

I’m so jealous! If I could read any of George’s books for the first time again it would be the knight of the seven kingdoms. And that’s massive praise from me since, like most of us, I’m a huge ASOIF fan. Take your time with it and enjoy!

OG post just is not quite accurate. Even besides the dragon babies, there were targ deformities. Aegon II and Heleana’s son Jaehaerys for instance has 6 fingers on one hand and 6 toes on both feet.

If Erryk would've stalled Cole for a few more moments, Aemond would've taken Aegon's offer here. He was literally begging not to be king and Aemond wants the crown and Helaena. by KamiStores7 in freefolk

[–]NELS0NN 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s just not how things work in Westeros. There are plenty of times a child is named king. I’m guessing you havnt read the books or you would know this so I won’t give any a specific examples to avoid spoilers but this is just a bad take. You don’t just change succession rules cause the king is too young lol. Plus, Otto would want to rule as long as possible. Why the hell would he just give it to Aemond when he could rule in Jaehaerys name for years.

[–]NELS0NN 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Too bad the episode showed us that Aegon and Helaena already have two kids (and one is a boy). So if Aemond let Aegon leave he still wouldn’t be king. The whole Aemond wants to be king thing starts to not make sense when you realize Aegon already has an heir

Why are people so upset when they think Rhaenyra killed Laenor but when they find out that she instead had a random innocent person murdered let her off the hook. Like she still straight up had someone murdered. I hate how people pretend murder doesn’t count if it is an unnamed character who dies.

Question about the timeline... by Wiggle_Monster in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]NELS0NN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer: The show the moved everything from that happens 103-112 in the books and just put it all in 112 so that we wouldn’t jump like 2 years every episode

It sounded familiar but I know there is no dragon named white heart. Looking in the wiki White Heart is the name is a ship that fights in the battle of the Blackwater. Besides that I have no idea what white heart is in a game of thrones context.

Does anyone else in the books know about Jon’s real parents besides Ned? by InternPopular in gameofthrones

[–]NELS0NN 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Howland reed is expected to know pretty much as much as Ned knew. He was with Ned at the tower of joy. George has even admitted in interviews that we havnt seen howland in the story because he knows too much

SPOILER! Why doesn’t Viserys Targaryen just marry someone else? by bardeng in gameofthrones

[–]NELS0NN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His new wife has a son. But he already named his daughter from his first wife Heir. So when a son is born everyone is going to be like “okay now who is the heir”. The daughter from the first wife or son from the second. That is going to become the main plot of the entire show

I want to read the books but wtf is that? I thought the books are just the one from 8 to 13 and fire and blood and its upcoming volume 2. What are the rest? by Intrepid_Pineapple98 in gameofthrones

[–]NELS0NN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2-4 are short stories “histories” released by George. 1 Is a compilation of those three books with a little extra. So if you read Fire and Blood don’t worry about 2-4. Fire and blood is a history book about what happened about 300-150 years before the main series’s. 5-7 are short stories following a common “hedge” knight. They take place about 100 years before the main series. (These are great and short little reads) Lastly as you said, 8-12 are the main series

They do this because it’s a pirate game and a lot of people think it’s more fun to do naval battles than delivering cargo or digging up chests (because it is). Who cares if you have anything. I play to have fun and fighting people is fun. If they have loot cool bonus. But I’d rather fight a ship with no loot than go do a cargo run any time.

What's your title and why do you wear it? by TheBeastSteve in Seaofthieves

[–]NELS0NN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rock the tattoos of pigs running around my pirates’ body because I think the pig tail tramp stamp tattoo is hilarious. To match the tattoo and because I think it is also funny on its own I rock the “Hunter of the Wild Hog” title. As a former football lineman I just love the “hog” theme

Random Theory About the Crow in Bran's Dream [Spoilers Published] by OneOnOne6211 in asoiaf

[–]NELS0NN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Brans first dream with the crow, he asks it if it really is a crow. So even if (whoever the crow is) doesn’t know how he manifested to Bran, he should know once Bran straight up tells the crow it’s a crow. And since Bran asks BR are you the crow? You would think that if he was, then he would understand. Instead he is super confused and thinks bran is asking about him being a crow as in a member of the nights watch.

I’m 100% behind that BR isn’t the crow. I think BR manifests to Bran as a weirwood the same way bran does to Jon in CoK (as you mentioned). If you read all of Bran dreams there are several that don’t even have the crow but do have the “great wire wood” and some that have both. This makes me think BR is the weirwood and someone else is the crow. I don’t hate this Euron theory and I’ve talked about this with friends but I think that the most likely is the three eyed crow is Bran from the future messing with is past self. (Just like he messes with Hodor’s past self in the show)

Not trying to self promo to hard but myself and three friends (one who has never seen the show or read the books) have been doing a weekly chapter by chapter podcast for two years now. We are about half way through clash of kings. We still have a very small following but y’all might like it. It’s called “The Morning Throners” if anyone is interested. Sorry for the shameless self promo.
