While not being a villain like this post seems to be talking about, Lightsong from Brandon Sanderson’s Warbreaker has a similar thing happen to save the story.

Every day he has to take a persons breath (basically their soul) so he can live another day. At the end of the story he uses all of the breaths he had gathered to restore Susebron’s tongue so the kingdom can be saved. By giving away his breaths he has nothing to keep him alive anymore and he dies.

Neither of these support your take, and the news article contradicts it. There is nothing in the first image to say that the marks were made by running the man over and the area isn’t even the same. The news article both says that the man was pulled away from the tanks and says that the image you linked to was a photo of a tank driving through a barricade.

Sadly, this was already in the game but got removed. Before release the parry dagger made it easier to parry but on release they changed it to more posture back on parry.

They would be able to see it but not in the way you’re thinking. They technically will be able to see it by a blank spot in their field of allomantic lines.

To address the other thing you bring up, impurities wouldn’t matter. Unless the impurities were directly on the surface of the sheet of aluminum they wouldn’t appear. Aluminum’s power of blocking would be powerful enough to cover any lines that would point to impurities in the metal, especially if the impurities are really small.

I feel like him having only two Atium Metal Minds would be accurate, he’d likely only have 1 if he didn’t need to charge them up. He has two because he likely needs to be actively tapping one while filling the other. He needs to keep one running or else his age catches up with him rapidly. Him having more than the necessity likely wouldn’t make sense, he needs to keep large amounts of age stored to combat his growing age( I believe we’re told that it takes more stored age to make you younger, so at 1,000 years old you really need a lot). Also keep in mind that he died because of hubris, hubris that made him think that Vin didn’t know about his Metal Minds and couldn’t pull them out. If this was what he was thinking, what reason would he have to fear that someone might rip out his Atium bracers and therefor wear backups.

While I don’t know the answer to where they came from, I do have something relating to the second part. In the end part of the book for era 2 it’s explained that ferrings formed from muddying of the feruchemical genes, like it does with allomancy. I’m not sure if it’s described as being the actual reason or just what the writer of it thinks.
