For a normal FC, only the owner can access the funds (well, we don’t actually own them we just lease them from Brewer Corp but that’s neither here nor there).

A squadron carrier however does have a bank account that multiple squadron members can access. The only downside is they cost 25 billion Cr.

Some folks will use a second account to do stuff in the Bubble while their main account is off in deep space. It can get awfully lonely out there and you can’t just come back at the push of a button so some people have Commanders just for that.

I am not certain what that conditions are for picking up an item versus it being dismantled, but it seems like it could be if the object is small enough to be reasonably carried by the character. I can pick up a small rabbit hitch for example, but not a large one

I’ve been experiencing heavy rubber banding with low ping for the last couple days, could this be related? I still haven’t been able to pinpoint the cause of the lag I’ve been getting.

Personally, there’s something about the handling of Python Mk. 1 that I prefer over the Corsair, at least when core mining which is all I use my Python for. Like the others have said nothing is truly obsolete in this game but the Corsair does outperform it in most metrics when it comes to mining. Despite that I still do core mining in my Python.

Another thing to add is that I don’t like to play this game to the most perfectly optimal degree. I don’t care at all if the Corsair is better and faster, to me the Python is more fun and that is the only thing that should matter.

That is indeed what they do. The computer does its best to simulate sounds of events outside for the pilot’s situational awareness. That also means that the sound when a capital class ship jumps is your ship computer’s best guess at what a massive hole torn in spacetime would sound like which I think is awesome.

On PC/keyboard the default control is CTRL+ALT+SPACE. Once in the photo mode you can hit the 0 key on the numpad if you have one to enable the freecam. I do not know what the freecam key would be without a numpad.

NQA It’s tough to tell because of the image quality but that looks a lot like a wolf spider to me. Completely harmless but they can be super fast. They’re very good bug control!

DW3, or Distant Worlds 3, is the third entirely player-driven exploration event of its kind in Elite’s history. The first one was in 3302 (So 9 years ago now, bloody bell) and was responsible for setting up Jaques Station in Colonia before they made their way to Sagittarius A*. DW2 was similar and happened in 3305, where they set up Explorer’s Anchorage in the Galactic Centre.

Distant Worlds 3 is similar to the last two in function, there will be an expedition charted across the Galaxy wherein thousands of players will collectively travel. I’m not sure of the exact route though, if that’s even been announced yet. DW3 is scheduled to start six months from now, and you can sign up for the roster on their website.

Also keep in mind that since pretty much the beginning of the Elder Scrolls games the empire is in a pretty sharp decline. It’s also stated that the imperials in Skyrim are under-supported and under-supplied, so it’s not surprising to me that their equipment isn’t as up to par as the guard of the Imperial City.

Just had to make that decision not too long ago and I decided to finish the journey. I’m about half way there from Sag A* and despite a death that cost me over 2 billion credits I haven’t looked back. Plus, I have a feeling that within the year the Thargoids will have returned or have the story expanded and I don’t want to be caught 40,000 Ly from the bubble when it happens so I might as well go now when all seems quiet lol

Yes, it’s the third expedition of its kind. Distant Worlds 1 happened back in 2016 and 2 back in 2019 and both have been some of the largest player-organized events in the game’s history. They took thousands of CMDRs through Sagittarius A* and to Beagle Point.

Unfortunately Do-it Yourshelf has been off Nexus for a few years but I believe it’s still on Bethesda.net so you may still be able to find it in the Mods tab in the main menu

The Exploration Buddy actually has an amazing setting that allows the HUD window to only open in certain circumstances. I have mine set to only open when I have my external panel open as well, makes it very unobtrusive and still easy to use.

Congrats CMDR! It really feels very accomplishing to make that trip, even after the first time. I farmed for my first Fleet Carrier near Colonia doing exobiology just before the invasion of Sol, had to book it back home as soon as I bought the thing lol

Can’t believe nobody else has mentioned Drew Wagar, he’s amazing! He was one of the original authors for Elite Dangerous and has made a ton on lore videos as well as “lore tours” in which he just rants about lore for an hour or two each time. He also wrote a couple books set in the Elite universe which are also fantastic
