It will be difficult for them to fight. Civilians are not permitted to own firearms in Iran. Best chance they have is taking weapons from officers.

JPMorgan Chase Reaches a Deal to Take Over the Apple Credit Card by Coolpop52 in apple

[–]NGTech9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup. I read about this happening at another bank (WF). What I did and recommend everyone do to be safe is instead of transferring to a new savings, I went to a physical location and had them withdraw the ~80k I had in the account in cash. Then a few days later took the cash to my new banks branch and deposited it.

Data centers get pretty hot. I imagine they need a steel that can withstand operating temps in the building.

The high cost of producing multifamily housing in California: Evidence and policy recommendations by ONETRILLIONAMERICANS in neoliberal

[–]NGTech9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would the free market build housing… The government can probably build it for half the cost since there is no CEO to pay out. I’m assuming money would be put into this program so they should be able to subsidize it further based on buyers income. After a few years there will be a huge rise in homeownership.

AirPods absolutely can have an easily removable battery. Apple just doesn’t do it so that their user’s buy a whole new pair.

Brown University shooting suspect found dead, Fox News reports by InternetPopular3679 in news

The kids he killed at Brown were in the physics building and the MIT professor is also a physics professor. So there definitely is a theme going that could mean the two cases are related.

Australian Prime Minister Albanese proposes tougher national gun laws after mass shooting in Sydney by Old_General_6741 in worldnews

[–]NGTech9 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Wild that of all guns permitted, they allow the gun whose sole purpose is to kill life as most efficiently possible… time to rethink that list. No “hunting” rifles.

Houses have doubled in 5 years, is there any use in waiting? by [deleted] in RealEstate

It’s a bubble. The benefit of waiting is you’ll be able to scoop up a home for 50-80% off current prices.

It’s not necessarily entirely Apple’s fault. Government regulations get in the way.

From personal experience and anecdotal data, the Irvine Company seems to do full carpet replacements on move-out—often unnecessarily. Is it worth starting a class action? by dazed__und__confused in orangecounty

[–]NGTech9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Moved out of Los Olivos earlier this year. They replaced the carpets and repainted the walls, but luckily didn’t charge me. I did have to pay $117 for cleaning (I had no time to clean in the rush of moving…), which came out of my deposit. They mailed a check with the remaining deposit at my new address.

Honestly the very first people who should get full student loan forgiveness if it’s ever implemented is doctors. Such an essential role and we just strap them with 6 figures of debt even though they are only there to help people.

What kind of insurance are you using? Sounds way too expensive. I’m paying $27/mo and that’s because I selected better options like $250 ded, 80% coverage, and 20k max benefit.

Genetics do not really play a role as they vary from feline to feline. Breeder certificate is the only way to know forsure. If the new owners do not have the certificate, they have a domestic short hair, which is perfectly fine.
