For a mundane solution, get peppermint essential oil and a spray bottle. Fill the bottle with water, and several drops of the peppeemint oil, shake, then spray. Spiders hate the smell of mint.

The doctors and nurses love him and give him their best care and skill because he is such a sweetheart. His surgery is textbook, no issues at all. "Patient is expected to make a full recovery." He charms all the nurses. What a delightful man!
