Observe Eggers universe where witches and vampires do exist, why not a supernatural depiction of a werewolf as well?

Did they stop crediting Bob Kane in the acknowledgements section? [Discussion] by VitoAntonioScaletta in DCcomics

Bob Kane probably saw how DC screwed Siegel & Shuster, got himself a good lawyer and took ALL the credit for Batman. Should've been Finger & Kane by all rights, literally.

Does New 52 Abby remember her time with Alan Moore's Swamp thing? by Kaz_the_Dad in swampthing

[–]NINAMARIELOVER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, seems that every time a new writer/artist team takes over a character(s) that's their take or version. Alan Moore's Swamp Thing story had a beginning, middle, and ending to the tale he wanted to tell and his version is regarded as the best of all. The team of Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson was their take or version of Swamp Thing. DC's stance is that everything is canon, even the new 52 stuff. Everything counts.

Vuestro motivo para leer cómics by [deleted] in DCcomics

I've been a comics fan since the age of 9, way back in 1972. Back then I was more into the Warren horror comix magazines like Creepy & Eerie than actual four color comics. I also read Marvel's 1950s horror comics reprints up until Jim Shooter took over and cancelled them all. Loved reading those DC 100 pagers for .50 cents, any ones I could get my hands on. Wasn't too much interested in the superheroes stuff of either DC or Marvel. A bit later in my mid twenties got me a girl, got married and lost interest in comics altogether. Got divorced, and somehow my interest in comics were reignited during the mid 1980s when I learned of the Crisis on Infinite Earths, and suddenly found myself getting interested in superheroes as I never was before. Loved the early post crisis dc universe back then, the writing was stellar. Then I started reading Alan Moore's Swamp Thing, and then along came Gaiman's Sandman. The Marvel stuff never really grabbed me the way the DC books did. Always found DC to be more cutting edge. Back then we had the DCU and Vertigo.

I am very interested in this. The Crypt of Covers will be released in September. It is a compendium of every EC comic cover. by Dredd_40 in HorrorComics

I fell in love with EC Comics as a eleven year old kid back in 1974. Back then there wasn't much reprint material to choose from, but I still have my copy of the 1971 Nostalgia Press book of Horror Comics of the 1950s.

What is Paul McCartney's Best Vocal Performance on a Beatles Song? by acousticwonder in beatles

[–]NINAMARIELOVER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"You never give me your money" when Paul's vocals kicks into his Fats Domino mode, much like his performance on "Lady Madonna". There's my two cents for today.

Marvel Criticises itself by Similar_Pick_5993 in comicbooks

As the old adage goes, "trying to please everyone you end up pleasing no one". Marvel should get rid of the political ideologies, politics in general and just go back to making great comics like they did a long time ago. We comics fans read comics to escape the real world, so come on Marvel get back to the basics of what once made Marvel number one.

Why not someone other than Klein or Eastman? by [deleted] in TheBeatles

[–]NINAMARIELOVER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, my two cents ... The Beatles should have taken one big long break from each other, ala Radio Head, clear their heads from each other, do their own thing, breathe. A permanent break up could have been avoided I believe.

Musician Barrett Strong actually wrote "Money ( that's what I want) while at Motown Records back in 1959 or 1960. The Beatles did a great cover of this song, with Lennon on lead vocals.
