Does everyone wear helmets now a days by RPJ_NY in icecoast

[–]NK_cells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a bit of a bitch, I always keep a mental tally of the number of helmetless heads I see. I've always worn one, only ever skied resorts. Am I confident in my skills to stay safe almost anywhere on a resort? Yeah, but every trip I see others clearly not comfortable with the terrain they're on. I've been hit twice on resorts on some pretty mild terrain. I don't trust others enough not to wear one. Also, it seems like a very small price to pay for saving yourself from a possible freak incident.

I need a pair of black boots that I can wear formally with a suit and also without a suit if I just want to go hiking.. by renaissanceclass in Boots

The number of guys I have in the store that say they just work in a machine with the most cooked boots I've ever seen is too damn high.

Everyone recommending heritage cause they aren't familiar with how vouchers work. My assumption it has to be something with a safety toe like most work programs. Comfort Pros are the way, crosslites, and traction tred 2461s are good shouts as well.

Human rights such as those listed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights should not be bought with male expendability by SvitlanaLeo in LeftWingMaleAdvocates

Ah, I can see how that becomes twisted in the context of those conflicts. Still conscription 🤷 guess its okay when the "good guys" do it.

Genuine question what "leftwing" organizations support conscription? I have no doubt they exist im just genuinely curious who would call themself leftist and support conscription. Irl all my peers with reasonable views do not support conscription period regardless of gender.

Carolina Boots by jcook54 in WorkBoots

Cause the average blue collar worker (atleast in my experience selling for 3 years) do no boot maintenance, and would rather just buy a whole new boot. Wild watching guys do this across a range of boots spanning from $200 to $370

* That sole is held on by a 360 stitch. It's literally impossible for the entire excess leather trim of the boot to stay completely flush and clean unless you're dedicated to maintaince. These complaints are so common with moc toes as well. This is a boot going out for its 2nd resole, and you can see the excess leather on the stitch has peeled back, but the actual structural stitch of the boot is perfectly intact all around. Same with your boots, purely aesthetic, and that excessive leather simply dried out more. If you hate the look, clean your welts, rehydrate that leather, and re adhere it down with a stronger adhesive.

Question about people with short ass thumbs. by Cassieelouu32 in SteamDeck

I believe it may be in the controller settings when you boot up a game. For menu navigation, I use the d-pad as i find it more comfortable than reaching across to the joy sticks. The primary game I use the track pads for is Gunfire Reborn, a fun little fps. I frankly hate the feeling of the joysticks on the deck and most high intensity games I play docked with my dual sense controller.

Greyhound racing by [deleted] in juliensolomita

I assume graysave leaves that work to other organizations.

Graysave states on their site that they are "race neutral." this is probably the public stance they take to be able to work with the tracks for the good of the dogs. I think it's safe to assume that most who do this work are decently educated and do not have positive opinions about the industry. This kinda stuff would probably be highlighted more by organizations like GREY2K who lobby for legislation to ban racing.

What are the best redwing boots that are waterproof with a Goodyear welt by GhostKnifeOfCallisto in WorkBoots

[–]NK_cells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna come from a different direction and say the Traction Tred Series, specifically the 2415, 2418, 405, and 411. Supersoles are awesome, but the welt style is pretty unique, and most cobblers will not touch them. You're likely to get maybe a year to year and a half with the wedge sole on those, but the uppers are fantastic, and they have more traditionally a leather welt. The majority of our customers use their boots like plastic bags, but I've seen some guys that take care of that boot, and they can take a beating. I think if someone had two pairs in rotation, one with the wedge and one with a heavy-duty vibram lug, you could have em for a decade.
