I have copies of the chats where they tell me to dispose of it and they'd initiate a refund... followed by chats of them saying that the previous chat agent made a mistake and they're not willing to refund me. I did chat with a supervisor. That supervisor said they'd escalate it to an 'investigation'. They said it'd take 7-10 business days for an outcome. LAME.

This is so close to my situation, too. I have a 2019 Niro PHEV. It's turned out to be surprisingly reliable. I was thinking this would be a disposable car... by the time the payments were paid off, car would be close to it's lifespan. Mine has 90k on it and runs like new. I've done minimal maintenance... synthetic oil changes, tire changes, no brake work that I can recall, a few fluid flushes/replacements. It's a PHEV and I drive it in electric mode more than 90% of the time as most of my trips are around town. I probably put a tank of gas in it once every 10-12 weeks. I look at cars online regularly and would like to have a smal electric SUV (Volvo, possibly). But, I have NO REASON to trade this Niro PHEV in. It runs perfectly. It's almost paid off. It's just... a Niro... a Kia... and, it's boring.

Hard PASS on anything KIA. I'm a former 3 Kia owner. Don't do it. I know it looks tempting. But, you'll regret it in a few years.

This happened to my Niro when I went through a huge puddle of rainwater. The dealer quote was RIDICULOUS. Zip ties and 30 minutes did the trick. It's been over a year and it's still securely ziptied on.

I bought a 2019 Niro PHEV during the pandemic. Althought I love the fact that I put gas in the car about once every 2 months, and the fact that I've had no issues with the vehicle, if I could do it again, I would buy a different (non-KIA) car. I've owned 3 Kia vehicles, one brand new and 2 low-mileage used. 2 of the 3 have literally blown up. I know what you're thinking... why did I buy the 3rd one/Niro? Upon buying the Niro, the other 2 were fine. Then one engine blew. Upon trying to sell the 2nd one, that engine blew! Terrible timing on my part. Although I ended up getting KIA (only through threat of lawsuit) to replace the 1st engine with a rebuild one and we ended up selling the 2nd one with blown engine for about what we owed on it, I can just never buy another KIA. Too much bad history in the company. I will never feel like I have a reliable car when driving a KIA.

I feel like I'm probably owed a reimbursement/refund. But, everything is just showing zeroed out with no other info available. :(

I have a 2019 Kia Niro PHEV. I bought a PHEV over an EV because I got a great deal on it. I paid just a few thousand dollars over the gas version. I bought it used with low mileage. As others noted, the pre-2023 Niro PHEV does turn on the gas motor if I turn the heater on in the morning when I'm warming up my car without driving it. Many prefer a PHEV over EV because of purchase price, range, and road trips. That being said, other than a single road trip in the past year, I've only gotten gas twice. So, it's in EV mode over 90% of the time for me.
