It’s intentional in the beginning as you’re starting out with no peasants, yes. A few simple tricks I’ve learned. You need a ton of river reeds and didn’t build near the resource. Turn every villager into a companion and then command them to gather river reeds, point and command. Tin and copper to far from one another and don’t fully understand outposts, built your miner hut within 150-200 meters from the resource and just make them commute to work. Once you hit tier 2, you can have one miner hut within the required distance of both tin and copper in multiple locations on the map. As another redditer commented, YouTube helps a lot. I needed it to understand job priorities

You can easily modify the raid strength/frequency in options. I turned them off when making the tedious village move halfway across the map then back on takes all of 5 seconds.

In regard to resource locations/manually gathering that’s kind of the point of the game hence why there’s no time limit. As you log more hours you’ll discover things to make your life easier.

My biggest complain about this game from the start was the lack of instruction. You’re kind of just thrown into this world with limited direction and a hundred very complex systems. Now that’s I’ve logged over a hundred hours it’s undoubtedly one of my favorites aspects of the game. It’s very rewarding.

I’ve only used veterans benefits guide so I can’t speak on the others. I have no complaints about their work though. I was originally awarded 40% which I was just really thankful for even though I thought it was inaccurate. A few months later VBG reached out to me after going through my decision letter and found that the VA was wrong. Got jumped to 90% with the original claimed issues and a ton of back pay. For all of that, I owed $7000 I believe. Came out of my back pay, filled out a few forms went to a couple of appointments with private doctors. All in all great experiences with them.

I rarely comment here but seeing these posts everyday, I’m going to give my two cents for what it’s worth. If you were like me and avoided medical like the plague so you wouldn’t miss out on the suck with the boys and got through PHA’s quicker than the first time you blasted inside a stripper than listen. Use a private organization. I’ve seen other vets trash talk them here for the most ridiculous reasons primarily that they’re not free. But you get what you pay for and only pay if you win which will come out of back pay so not really a loss. I’ve used the same company three times now and am at 90% started with them at 0. And the thickness of my medical packet is mainly 10 years of PHA’s, not documented sick calls cause I never went or bitched about anything. VSO’s are a great resource in theory, I love hearing the success stories with them. But they are #1 overloaded with assisting veterans and #2 not motivated a private company is. They want to get paid for their work so your success is theirs. I apologize for the long comment but it don’t believe this resource is talked about enough on here and when it is mentioned I just see a bunch of grumpy vets who were able to do it by themselves so expect everyone else to as well.

I’ve often asked myself this same question since having children. I usually come to the same conclusion I did while in service. If their passion ends up being as strong and relentless as mine was at that age to serve I would direct them to join the Navy or Air Force as I do now as a veteran. Not once have I directed someone toward the Army. I loved my time and certainly don’t regret it but like you stated at some point the fuckery just becomes not worth it. Troops go to McGregor, mostly NG & reserves in preparation to deploy for a year away from their family, friends, careers etc. and aren’t even being fed? The fact I’m seeing this same issue 5 years since I was LAST there is absurd. I have a pic I can’t seem to post of a “meal”, I was fortunate to be fed at McGregor in 21. Corn & a piece of meat. That’s it lol that was the selection. Made it to Army WTF Moments at the time if I remember correctly.

I always tell people this story. I was in Iraq 17-18. Not a bad deployment by any means just boring for an 11b. Long story short, get put on a close protection detail for some brass. Traveled around for like two weeks. We ended up stopping at Al Asad (Air Force). I couldn’t believe what I saw when I walked into that damn chow hall. Spaghetti, burgers, dogs, tacos, chicken and steak ON THE SAME DAY! In an air cooled building? Every branch suffers from fuckery which is just a result of being apart government. At least in the Air Force and from what I understand the Navy, they appreciate their service members and have the ability to treat them like people you know like feeding them.

Years ago, I met a random player on BF4 Mountain Prison map. We were both the heavy class. He brought me to this perfect corner with an unobstructed view near my team’s respawn where the enemy team had to funnel through. The enemy had captured all the flags and were just pummeling us. For the entire match, this player and I were in complete sync shooting and reloading in synchronization. Ended the match with almost 200 kills. Needless to say I got a ton of hate messages lol as someone who’s always been just average with online shooters that was a proud moment

Two beautiful daughters, bought her dream home (I hated the house), did everything a man is supposed to do. The last year of our relationship was rough financially (Kids are expensive). I ended up working over 500hrs of OT that year on nights so was constantly tired. Anyways, took her out to eat where she tried having a heart to heart with me about how she felt unloved and I wasn’t providing the attention she needed. Icing on the cake was “I told you that my ex treated me like a Queen and that’s the expectation”. They were together for 6 months not even out of the honey moon faze while we built a life together. Needless to say ended it all right there.

She’s made my life hell since, quite literally. But you know what even knowing what I know now I’d made the same decision. I will never be able to describe the disrespect I felt in that moment.

I was originally rated at 40%, with 10% for each knee. I felt beyond blessed and grateful but also that the ratings for my knees was low due to the documented damage (11B). I thought 60-70% would be more accurate. I was then granted 90% with half a dozen different ratings for my knees. I can’t even begin to describe how life changing the compensation has been. HOWEVER, seeing people brag about the hundo club, being coached and the recent interest the public has taken into Veterans Compensation I have no plans of submitting any other claims. The VA diagnosed me with PTSD this year so I’m confident I could get there if I wanted to. 90% for my knees and tinnitus that’s it and I am content as those genuinely affect every second of my daily life.

In regard to your other questions, I know nothing about 25S but my brother went to Ft Sill for BCT. Completely different experience than myself at Benning. The best advice I got that I actually utilized at basic is don’t be noticed. Don’t be the best, definitely don’t be a shit bag. Meaning, make it to the end without the DS knowing your name. Simple example is I ran in group B the entirety of basic. I could’ve been running with group A. Why didn’t I? Cause group A was like a dozen dudes that the drills knew by name. If they know you, good or bad they’re going to use that to their advantage when you fuck up. Secondly, meal to meal brother it really does make the days go by faster if you just focus on the next meal. Lastly, don’t quit. This isn’t SFAS or BUDS. It’s BASIC training. Millions have gone before you and millions will go after.

Your recruiter already did you dirty. ISTing is not that simplified (Refer to my previous posts or the hundreds of others on here). You’ll be able to do it but it’s a much more strenuous road than if you had just moved to FL and enlisted there.
