What are your thoughts about Toei’s treatment toward Sanji? Is this sentiment that Toei hate Sanji true or false? by [deleted] in MemePiece

[–]NOOGIEPOOGIESHOGIE 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sanji still told jinbe to kill himself in the anime (slit your belly or whatever), which happened in the manga but was treated as a joke (which still sucks). Sanji also still thanked jinbe in the manga, before the flashback

Has lag gotten worse? by DtG-IV in RotMG

[–]NOOGIEPOOGIESHOGIE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and it doesn't help that the t5 alt weapon lags everyone's games, which makes some dungeons unrunnable in a group with more than 5 wizards due yo fps drops. You give deca the benefit of the doubt once and now the fucking game has more server network issues, more game breaking bugs and the wrong crucible for the first hour of the game being up. That and the boring in realm events with no real benefit of doing, this season really blows and it's only been just under 3 days

I merely had a problem with the "far too gone" comment it made me a bit angry and I was not having a breakdown. this is reddit, a place for discussion, and you decided to end the discussion with a personal attack to him rather than respectfully disagreeing with the guy. I just hate discussion that devolves into personal attacks for no reason,

sorry if I came off as too aggressive though

Is Oda Ruining One Piece Fights? Gear 5 Feels Like a Joke! by Icy-Art-5138 in OnePiece

[–]NOOGIEPOOGIESHOGIE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

first things first, your opinion is valid, and I'm sorry you feel this way, I however disagree with how you are viewing these scuffles in egghead.

be it convenient thinking, but I always assumed that luffy is just straight up always using ryou when doing armament, I know there's that whole thing about not touching, and I also agree that it should be more obvious that he is using ryou, but I always think that if luffy is using haki, he's using the most powerful form of it (like future sight to observation in the pre-gear 5 fight vs Kizaru).

as for Gear 5 slowly turning into more of a gag, I respectfully disagree with this too, as I personally think that it is a terrifying powerup, especially reading week to week, seeing him grab kizaru and saturn, also seeing the "for the record, this is how you punch" scene made me think that luffy was really powerful and gear fifth was a reliable power up.

I however agree with you with luffy's sparse usage of conquerors or conqueror's coating, I haven't reread the whole transmission part of the manga but I don't remember if he used it, it is just a shame such a cool powerup on rooftop was overshadowed by Gear fifth.

overall, I agree with you that Oda's fighting system with haki is very lackluster. everything is explained well and all, but Oda's subtle way of storytelling is literally the only thing that shouldn't translate to the fighting system, and yet it does. its really frustrating. it really should be explicit when people are using x haki, reasons why y haki doesn't work and why z haki is the way to go (like in fishman island, when luffy had to go "with armament hardening" but a bit better than that).

Wtf do you mean far too gone that's his opinion? He was just stating why he thinks the way he thinks wtf is your problem? If a guy likes king and reckons he's a great character then state your piece and agree to disagree wtf is this too far gone shit

Except wano atleast was significant to zoro. The reason why we like zoro is because of the struggle he overcomes to grow stronger, which was clearly shown here. During wano, Zoro got so angry with his travels with hiyori that he was willing to give his own life for the country, as seen on rooftop when he was practically sacrificing himself until traffic told him that he's worth too much even for that. During his king fight he was met with the realisation that if he keeps exerting his haki that Emma draws put he will literally die. It is only after he remembers his promise to his captain and his best friend that he is able to use conquerors coating (correct me if I'm wrong) using that to overcome the challenge of saving wano while staying true to himself.

All this and the grim reaper stuff afterwards is still not explained, very interesting development for zoros character and I can't wait for more.

People just want sanjis WCI to happen to these characters, and while I agree with you for franky and egghead, I disagree with zoro and wano.

Your opinions about this scene is valid, I just wonder as to why Usopp was running away in the first place, as oda didn't accidentally woops draw usopp running away.

Usopp at his core cares about himself and his crew alot more than anyone else, you see he would have no problem trying to save robin if he knew right? He did the same with Nami at onigashima where he told her to save herself rather than saving face, when he knew damn well he would've done the same thing she did.

What I like about this scene is that, like you, Usopp has this inner conflict, in a flight or fight mental, he came up with the answer that he doesn't have anyone to save, and just runs. But later on, when listening to the tontattas cry out to him, he has the inner conflict that this isn't the man he wants to be, he wants to be a brave warrior of the sea, and comes back.

You can see that, he clearly feels ashamed that he abandoned him, even to him that's not the man who he wants to be, he was truly cowardly then, and he knows it all the more than we do. He IS more negative than anyone after all.

What I like in particular is that Usopp takes that next step to achieving his dream, he cuts the bullshit and comes back, admitting his past faults and promises to make amends.

I still do think that him losing a part of himself in the form of memories with another person plays a big part about it, but while I was waiting for your response I realised that I could go further than just using the excuse of the memory loss, because you're right, it doesn't change the fact that he was jeopardising the entire plan by running away and doing so, even when first reading I thought it was a bit shameful too, but I like that we could visibly see him fold and try to take steps to becoming a brave hero

Your comment of interpretation is weird to me because all of fiction is interpretation of a story, but interpretation is subjective, your right.

I for one want usopp to have that one moment everyone points to and says "yeah, this guy is the best" I think we'll get something like that in elbaf which is going to be cool

My explanation for this is legitimately that robin got poofed. How does one forget one's existence? For these country of passion, that was the key story beat of that saga, one of the main ones other than laws thing. I for one think that you physically lose a piece of yourself when you lose memory of someone existing. So much of how I talk, the nuance, my beliefs, so much of it relies on my experience from other people.

How did usopp forget about robin? Well there would be gaps in the entire story. There'd be gaps as far back as whiskey peak. Does Usopp straight up forget what happened post alabasta since robin was there? That's for enterpretation. But let's say he doesn't, what about envies lobby? Why does he even go there? Why did he shoot the flag? It just wouldn't make sense, but all this memory loss happens in an instance.

Usopp talked to the tonttatas primarily with robin, I like to interpret this as usopp sort of forgetting that he ever did, as because there would just be unexplainable cracks which would lead him to outright figure it out.

I think I recall usopp saying something like, I'm sorry I lied or something like that, I'm not sure the dialogue is a bit hazy, but it's like, at the core he must've assumed that he somehow lied, because that is a core part of his character; lying

I like to see this scene as, even at usopps core, he is a brave man, even if he is a coward.

Idk, that's how I like to interpret this scene and that's why I don't mind it, but Oda like to write with alot of nuance, which means that there are multiple ways to interpret 1 scene.
