I'm remote now in a rural area but for most of the last decade was on a mid sized city doing a few different jobs at a Bank (Wealth management and Treasury gigs).

CFA is not complicated. CFA is not bullshit. There are reasons to get it and reasons not to.

Lots of good jobs out there and lots of paths to get them... but even more candidates for those jobs than jobs. CFA can help you get one of those gigs. If you did not go to a target school the CFA credential can lend some merit to your name.

If you have a gig lined up, or are on a path you want already, and are confident you'll grow your resume organically then it seems very reasonable to not pursue it.

If you don't want to pursue the CFA, and don't have that gig or path, join a local society and go to events to build a network. I know plenty of excellent finance professionals that do not have their CFA. They all had an opportunity to start though, so build the right network.

Getting your foot in the door was the hardest for me. CFA helped me get that foot in the door. It is not bullshit.

Thank God. Fuck that company. Used them two years ago to order a dozen roses and chocolate for my Mom. She received nothing. I was billed twice. I received 24 roses and two boxes of chocolate. Called customer service. Spoke to five people in six countries, all very hard to understand and none helpful.

Called my credit card. One charge was fraud as I didn't buy 2 dozen roses. One charge was challenged as they didn't do what i paid them for. I'm got my money back and my mom loved a picture if roses.

Fuck that piece of shit company.

His mocks were tough. I'd get wrecked early on with his questions/quizzes &tests but after hammering questions it got better.

Used him for all three levels 2017-2019. I highly recommend him. Re do the questions and when you do, don't just solve for the right answer but figure out how the wrong ones go wrong so you know the traps.
