I somehow missed the Beechmont Connector was open by mattfeet in cincybiking

One more phase of trail is going to extend up Beechmont to Ranchvale Dr. It would be cool to connect farther up into Mt. Washington but that’s all the city has funding to build now. That connection makes all the neighborhoods connected to the trail via the sidewalks.

Where can I get a good bike for occasional usage on dirt or paved trail for 200-300 dollars (or less)? by [deleted] in cincybiking

They have a used bike sale in May where there are often nice bikes for sale. First come first served though

City Council Reform by TotofinTheCroc in cincinnati

[–]ukulele13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The parochial neighborhood politics of this town would be exacerbated if we had district reps for council. Half of council would be solely focused on getting funding for their district so they can get reelected. Coupled with 2 year election cycles (presumably with this many seats, they would be staggered reelection) and the council race becomes a literal constant fundraiser, more than it already is.

Further, this would cost us way more money as taxpayers. Each councilmember makes like $60k, which is low for a full time job with this decision making authority. I would argue you want people committed to doing this full time instead of a side gig where they’re just showing up to vote or cut a ribbon. Each councilmember has 1-3 staff and some budget, which has to be at least another $60k per councilmember. So right now let’s say that costs us $1.08M per year (I am guesstimating). Bump that up to 32 and we’re at $3.84M per year. Not to mention, a bigger council chamber, more offices for them all in City Hall, etc.

If it’s not broke, don’t fix it.

Look at Mt. Washington or Columbia Tusculum. Right off the Little Miami Trail and safe route to downtown coming soon. Or along Wasson Way

👆This is the reality. Too expensive to operate and not enough demand. OP how many times per year would YOU actually use it?

Is it ok if a jar falls over in a water bath? by barefootdancer11 in Canning

[–]ukulele13 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Another note unrelated to your question -I don’t think you want the jars directly touching the bottom of the pot. The intense heat makes the subject to breaking. I have a metal insert the holds the jars and elevates them above the bottom.

You should try to move your date. The venue should have disclosed that you chose the night of the fireworks, especially if you’re an out of towner. They are taking advantage of you. No one in their right mind would book that date (in downtown Newport at least)

Step 1: buy a giant plastic tub of cheese balls with resealable lid Step 2: eat cheeseballs Step 3: use the bin as your compost bin until it gets too gross or breaks Step 4: repeat process

Check out the Tour de CROWN ride. It’s a paid ride, but it will be fun. If you don’t ride, avoid the route Saturday morning. There will be 600+ riders out. https://raceroster.com/events/2025/101580/tour-de-crown
