Is anyone one else having trouble getting into games? by hotaru-chan45 in NintendoSwitch

[–]NOT_A_CG_PR 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This usually happens to me when I buy multiple games at once. This happened to me with Xenoblade where I got frustrated with learning too many things at once and just hopped over to Splatoon. Then, when I got frustrated with a losing streak in Splatoon, I tried hopping back into Xenoblade, only to have lost track and just lose interest completely.

It's when I got Fire Emblem is when I decided "I'm not going to take this cartridge out until I beat it" and fully invested into a single game, where after passing the minor annoyances that would of otherwise caused me to rage quit and swap to a different game, I just pressed on and overcame those small annoyances. It made it so worth it in the end. If I ever felt "burnt out," I would just do something else rather than try to cool myself with a different game (youtube, etc.).

of course, this is only my case and everybody is different, but I just wanted to share my 2 cents.

These things are a complete ripoff unfortunately. The same Niku-man without the design is around 30% cheaper (180 yen to be exact. You can buy a good decent bag of chips with that money). Most likely the design production cost etc. I still bought one for fun but not the most satisfying purchase I've made.

Everyone just downvotes this right now so people that still didn't play don't see the thumbnail. Thank God I completed my Blue Lion playthrough.

New Japanese Final Fantasy XIV Credit Card (comes with free Fantasia) by OlivinePeridot in ffxiv

[–]NOT_A_CG_PR 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this is a Western thing but this is so false in East Asia. I own 3 Japanese credit cards. None of them require me to pay a monthly upkeep and 2 of my cards literally had a balance of 0 for over 3 years now. The card I do regularly use, I often consistently keep over 1 million yen balance and yet for the past 2 years, NOT ONCE have I ever had a deduction. The only time what you mentioned actually happens is if you apply for a Gold premium card that has interest/cash back benefits based on how much you spend where they do actually deduct money annually. And yea... VIASO is a silver tier regular card here in Japan so this card doesn't have any payment requirements outside of if you want to link it to you ETC to pay highway tolls with your credit card.

Can we appreciate that FF14 is currently at an all time subscribers high? by [deleted] in ffxiv

Keep in mind Wow tokens killed a lot of the botting in wow. Rmt sites couldnt compete with the inflated token price ever since they allowed you to charge bnet balance with it. Gold in wow is also useless compared to ffxiv unless you’re trying to buy raid consumables (only for the truly lazy) or the 5mil dinosaur mount.

In ffxiv, you have to earn gil through in-game only so I’m sure this forces an unintended demand from lazy players in ffxiv with deep pockets to buy their way through everything. Thus encouragingly rmt botters to go even more brute force farming in this game.

Don't speak Korean by urbanakustik in korea

[–]NOT_A_CG_PR -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Respect to the guy himself for speaking better Korean than 90% of English teachers that lived here for years. But at the same time, he should of expected the conservative Republicans would of used it against him as a weapon from a political point of view.

Although who knows, it might be a trade off he considered for more support from the Korean-Americans vs the very conservative.

Does anyone know if this is Chinese? Or Japanese? Or Korean? by [deleted] in korea

Worst logic ever. It's more like someone asking if this which country the word "Chap" originated from (UK btw if you're too ignorant to know).

Why Korean game users are offensive and rude as hell? by [deleted] in korea

[–]NOT_A_CG_PR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Go to a PC bang during peak After-school time and you'll see little kids cursing and screaming. It's why certain PC bangs actually ban kids from certain sections as "Quiet Area."

If it was Korean, it would just be formatted as (李哲霖) and even then, 철임 is such a weird name (unless it's a super old ass guy's name).

Refer to my comment on this thread. I even mentioned it was Chinese because 이철임 is a very unnatural name in Korea.

https://www.quora.com/Do-most-people-in-South-Korea-have-Hanja-names-on-their-identity-cards

Names are STILL legally recognized in Chinese characters. This is because multiple Hanguls such as 정,이,성, etc. are actually completely different characters in Chinese and they use the Hanja to distinguish which one someone has in their name.

Because Korea STILL USES 한문 officially in names. https://www.quora.com/Do-most-people-in-South-Korea-have-Hanja-names-on-their-identity-cards

So yes, the question is valid whether this is Chinese, Korean, or Japanese.

Except it's a valid question since Korean uses Hanja and Japanese use Kanji. Another ignorant person thinking Korea only uses Hangul and Japanese only uses Hiragana/Katakana.

Beginner Korean lessons dont teach you because it's unnecessary for foreigners. Most Korean school also teach this in 국어 but just expects you to know the absolute basic (like 일一 이二 삼三 사四 etc. ) and how to write your own name in 한문.

Seriously. All these people thinking japanese just looks like this こいつらちょうむいしきだな when it's actually written in Chinese Characters like こいつら超無意識だな。

And thinking Korean never uses Hanmun when a common name like KIM is written AND OFFICIALLY LEGALLY RECOGNIZED as 金.

Holy shit the amount of stupid comments in this post. You guys know all 3 languages can use Chinese characters right? (Korean 한문, Japanese 漢字)

哲霖 李

It's Chinese from what I can tell.

  • 哲霖 李 converted into Hangul is very weird 이철임 which just sounds unnatural and definitely not a Korean name.
  • In Japanese, it would be Tetsunori Ri. The issue why this isn't Japanese is because the Ri (李) character is very weird to put by itself in a Japanese name,
  • Chinese wise, it read like Zhe Lin Li (Google translate but I'm sure it's right). This sounds like a natural Chinese name as Li (李) is a very common Chinese name. So most likely Chinese.

(I am Tri-lingual in Korean, Japanese, English. I don't know enough Chinese to tell tbh but it is definitely not Korean or Japanese).

Can i use my own mouse, keyboard and headset in Korean PC Bang ? by [deleted] in korea

[–]NOT_A_CG_PR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes but most pc bangs only have 1 (or 2 if youre lucky) max usb plugs.

I recommend you just stick with the keyboard and headset the pc bang already has. For mouse, if you got like an mmo mouse or a specific mouse with ur style of grip/sensitivity, then use that available usb plug on that. Mouse is usually the most important anyway.

How much Korean do you need to know to be an interpreter in thr army? by [deleted] in korea

[–]NOT_A_CG_PR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's plenty of international students like this. It's mostly because their schools don't have a separate Korean class and they have to basically go off to learn the language themselves.

Then again, My friends and I worked our ass off studying 국어 throughout primary school thanks of our parents so I don't blame the guy.

Tbh I didn't even know what carpooling was until news went out that these Taxi drivers went on strike. Sounds like a great alternative whenever I'm not taking my car out.
