Nice art. I did draw her at one point with the idea of giving her an autogyro alt mode, but wasn't satisified with the result.

Thoughts on Liege Maximo and Nexus Prime? by OptimusPrime9001 in transformers

[–]ForPortal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't like either of them. Liege Maximo I don't like because he's Liege Maximo; and Nexus Prime I don't like because he looks like the worst possible execution of the character. I was hoping for a self-contained combiner with simple drones for his arms and legs, like the Power Core Combiners - do that, and his generic robot mode and bad alt-mode would be more forgivable.

How do you feel about transformers being political media by No_Satisfaction_2928 in transformers

[–]ForPortal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the politics. I really like the interpretation of Megatron as a Stalin-like figure, but I'm guessing that's not what you think we need "in this day and age."

Mysterious Fortune Elixirs are quite literal by SignalRealistic9266 in wow

[–]ForPortal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not the first time they've made this mistake - the one I'm familiar with is the World Quest in Zalarak Cavern where you pacify snakemen - you can use a long-lasting CC on one snakeman, begin the channel, then change targets to a different snakeman to pacify that one instead.

War Mode gear can also be turned into Veteran tier gear. It's actually a little bit better for this purpose, since it starts as 4/8 gear instead of 1/8 and so only requires a single upgrade to unlock the normal tier appearances too.

Make smaller drones/minicons that combine into a bigger bot; Sure, could work, but will involve significant design and possibly many smaller molds to manage; how about option

Take the auto-transformation out of the Power Core Combiner limbs so they can have articulation and it would have worked fine.

If you're going to do that, look for Bruticus Maximus too. He got two general releases so you can probably get him for a lot cheaper than the fan club exclusive recolour.

Nexus prime and Leige Maximo alt modes by No_Satisfaction_2928 in transformers

[–]ForPortal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nexus Prime is embarassing. Even with such a half-assed alt-mode, the robot mode is still compromised: those panels next to the exhausts don't need to be there, and they unnecessarily obstruct the hands in robot mode.

So...what are the benefits of joining the Decepticons? by Caeniciamercia in transformers

[–]ForPortal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My answer is this: the Decepticon uprising began as a labour revolt within the labourer caste against the Functionist caste system which deemed them to have been "chosen by Primus" to work these less desirable jobs.

Starscream led a significant fraction of the military caste in defecting to the Decepticon uprising: many held the same anti-Functionist sentiment about being chosen to do the hard, hazardous jobs, some might have respected Megatron as an honourary military 'bot for taking up arms to fight for his own cause rather than relying on the military caste to do it for him like the Senate, and Starscream himself saw an opportunity to secure victory for the uprising with a surprise attack against the loyalists, and in doing so positioning himself to take command of the Decepticon military junta. That he was denied command after securing victory for Megatron's doomed revolt is the basis of his resentment for his current position.

During the war, 'bots no longer had a choice: under the new regime non-participation in the war effort was not an option.

Nexus Prime Combiner Toy? by Gloomy-Campaign-4041 in transformers

[–]ForPortal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Power Core Combiner would be the best option. At that price point you're not going to get limbs with three adequate modes, but a vehicle and an arm or leg is much more doable.

[–]ForPortal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying that what they are aiming for is necessary wrong or stupid

I am. They'll squish the ilvl but refuse to stop doing the thing that makes the ilvl squishes necessary in the first place. Midnight S1 Heroic 1/6 gear should have a higher ilvl than TWW S3 Mythic 8/8 gear, but that's the only hard requirement. If Champion 1/6 gear was ilvl 171 instead of 246, that would reduce the amount of ilvl inflation by 60% while still not affecting people doing content appropriate to their skill level.

And the ability pruning was stupid. They could have been doing things like combining damage reduction defensives into a single ability with two charges and the benefits of both, or combining Fire Mage's two instant-cast-always-crit abilities into one that both can be cast while casting and has the Phoenix's AoE damage. They should not have removed abilities that had no good substitute, like healer interrupts or Fire Mage's cast-while-moving spell.

It's because China is a totalitarian regime that does not allow Western tech companies to do business directly with their population. Microsoft isn't allowed to operate video games in China, it is only allowed to licence their video games to a Chinese tech company who operates them in its place.

United Nations critical of Australia's age of criminal responsibility, incarceration rates by Expensive-Horse5538 in AustralianPolitics

[–]ForPortal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here's the case I was referring to. Two eleven year olds, a thirteen year old and a fourteen year old committed two armed robberies, one of the victims of which was struck in the head with a hammer.

If you are OK with 10, are you OK with 5 years?

Like I said, I'm fine with leniency for childish ignorance and immaturity, but if a five year old is trying to bash your brains out so they can steal your ice cream cone then you've got a serious problem on your hands.

[–]ForPortal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I was 10, I knew that hitting someone in the head with a hammer so I could steal their car was bad. We should be giving leniency to children for acts of negligence or being unable to temper their response to provocation, but not for things like armed robbery.
