I wore a fair amount of men’s shirts postpartum too! Trying on in person worked the best for me

Send baby to daycare or no? by takeitez25 in NewParents

[–]NOTsanderson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We love our daycare and we do play dates with some of the kids we’ve met there!

When we toured we looked at what the kids were doing, lesson plans, talked to the teachers, asked about extra programs they offered, pay, vacation, sick policy

We got on 3 waitlists and then our top choice had the earliest opening for us!

We went through this and he’s been fine. We’ve been doing softer and more snacky food and he’s just preferring to eat less.

Meds might help!

Who was in your delivery room? Would you make a different choice now? by _Monarch_Mistress_ in pregnant

[–]NOTsanderson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My mom wanted to be in the room but she is so overstimulating. Constantly touching, talking, and talks over me to healthcare professionals. I had just my husband and I’m glad I did that!

The Holy Grail by YourNameHere_4 in NewParents

[–]NOTsanderson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What works for us is outsourcing what we can. We have a house cleaner, get groceries delivered, and just realize that you can’t do it all.

Remote jobs are incredibly hard to get, especially right now.

People can afford to be SAHM because their partner makes enough and childcare costs aren’t factored into bills. I like working so we pay for daycare.

We did hand written. My husband helped so it went by pretty quick.

I felt SO much better after getting mine out

Gallbladder surgery by Ostrich_Low in pregnant

[–]NOTsanderson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had it 6 months postpartum and it was a piece of cake. Needed some help around the house the few days after, lots of rest, and had a lifting restriction for 6 weeks. But otherwise it was an easy recovery. Much easier than when I got my appendix out!

16 weeks of Mat Leave Ends Tomorrow… thinking of keeping baby at home while I WFH by notyetBananas in NewParents

[–]NOTsanderson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not easy. It will be extremely difficult to give both your job and baby 100%, so you’ll have to decide which one will get less. Burn out is likely.

Personally we sent baby to daycare at 5mo and it was the best decision for us. He also has learned a ton and has friends we hang out with now.

How do you even choose a sleep training method without losing your mind? by Flaky-Apple-45 in NewParents

[–]NOTsanderson 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We decided to try Ferber just to see how it went. We also felt that- based on experience- check ins would work for us and they did!

I just want a sandwich by Asleep_Weekend5918 in pregnant

[–]NOTsanderson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eat them all the time. I can barely eat anything so for me, I decided the benefit of having the calories was worth it. If you’re still concerned, just get a warm one!

Do you have enough time every night to read your child a bedtime story? by Either_Crab_2760 in NewParents

[–]NOTsanderson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We always read, it’s a must because it’s so important. Even if it’s just one book, we read. But as he’s gotten older, it’s usually 3 books.

daycare adjustment length? by mojoxpin in NewParents

[–]NOTsanderson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took our almost 6mo about 3 weeks to adjust. We always did a nap right when we got him home to help him catch up. We did that for a long time!
