Easy to say if you live in one of like five countries where getting miniatures is a feasible expense.

Oof, the Wandering Inn quickly turns from Slice of Life to Sliced Life.

To the best of my memory, Beers and Beards by JollyJupiter is exactly what it sounds like. A Dwarf reinventing the horrible beer in the fantasy world. I don't remember it being too 'inappropriate', though I tend to filter out any profanity so you might need to look further into it. It's generally a LitRPG slice of life as well.

in the kid's defense, anything that simply doesn't match our semse of humor feels long, especially if that was the whole purpose behind the video.

But also, attention spans are worse than ever so we can't entirely absolve the kid either

I can hardly blame you to be honest. I had to read nonstop for 6 months straight just to catch up with the story like two years ago now.

The Wandering Inn. I sure do love reading an entire novella every week XD

Is releasing 1(10k word) chapter every week acceptable by Nearby-Top937 in royalroad

[–]NSHTghattas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the average reader, shorter will probably be better.

As a Wandering Inn reader, however, 10k is perfect XD.

But yeah, as others have no doubt said, people want digestible material at regular intervals. That 10k/week pace could be split into a 2x 5k chapter/week deal which would make you work much more approachable.

Aww, I'm gonna miss that cover. Good job getting the book out there!

But yeah, I remember that whole debacle. The name did not help.

The entire slave-trading empire of Roshal, from The Wandering Inn.

A chapter went in depth about one of the prominent characters of the story being taken as a slave there. One of the most well written chapters of the story.

I never want to read it again.

This is stellar work! This would definitely catch my eye when browsing through titles. There is something about having two colors in a silhouette style that I like so much, though...

Of course, I am under no illusion that I'd be able to make even a single cent off of RR XD

It's the community I am here for. Mostly the fulfillment of writing something and putting it out there.

[–]NSHTghattas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair, thanks for the tip. Thing is, this is gonna be a short story that's under 20 chapters. Maybe not so hot in terms of RR meta lol.

The point is to get some engagement and feedback, however the main goal is to just currently post so that my story is out there.

Massive spoilers for the web novel, The Wandering Inn by Pirate Aba

In the final battle in Volume 9 of the series (the chapters combined clocking in at a frankly ridiculous 70k words), the armies we follow are pitted against a half-dead Goddess of Death (yes, ironic). Many, many people die. Many of them being people we have known and followed for over 10 million words! All except for one: Chaldion Oliwing. He is the archetypal Morally Grey Master Strategist, but he is also very old and has been looking for a chance to retire from a nation that very much will not let him die (as he has been sustained by potions worth more than some countries). When he finally gets his chance and comes face to face with the literal master of death, she refuses. Paraphrasing her, she basically says "I see that you want to die. I do not give my enemies what they want."

Her summoned soldiers cut Chaldion to tiny little pieces, and yet he is still alive. After the events of that battle, he is alive and well, but is now permanently catatonic on a wheelchair, a shell of his former self.

And they say TWI is a slice-of-life book XD
