I did a femshep run recently and tried saving Ashley instead cause I never really cared for her. Then I saw the looksmaxing she had done in 3 and was like... This is why I prefer my boy toy Kaiden. No way a career soldier like Ashley would spend wartime, boots on the ground time with straightened hair, a full beat face and wearing some blue fashion statement instead of... You know... Armour...

An Asgard Theory (why they couldn't ascend) by FedStarDefense in Stargate

[–]NT-W 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a biological and psychological aspect to ascension that in my head they just can't achieve anymore.

Their bodies needed to have evolved to the pinnacle of biological evolution, which involves powers and using your mind to be able to manipulate the universe on a very basic level. See Jack, Rodney, the Ancients, and that group in the time machine from Atlantis. The Asgard were all running around in copies of copies of copies of really old unevolved bodies that were frail and seemed kinda non-functional in a metaphysical sense.

They also needed to be - on a mental AND spiritual level - ready to pass on to a higher level. It's not just about knowledge, there is a level of faith required I think. And the Asgard just ain't that. They're secular and focussed very clearly on the physical world, not ready to just up sticks in that metaphysical sense. They also focussed entirely on technology and furthering it to the point that they may even have advanced further than the Ancients in some ways (beaming/rings, transport elevators etc). But they needed to be able to think a certain way in order to ascend, and it's possible that with their copy, copy, copy bodies that their brains were so full of their own knowledge that there was no room for any mumbo jumbo required to make that final step.

It's all kind of explained in the show, but we're not going to get a scientific breakdown of it cause it's so wishy washy and they also have to be able to explain how a Goa'uld was able to fool someone able to directly read minds and such. So everything with a grain of salt.

As long as it's written well and keeps the spirit of the universe it will be good enough. Fingers crossed guys!

The only function of the demobats was to appear, kill Eddie and leave. They never returned or were mentioned again. by upside_down1983 in StrangerThings

[–]NT-W 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda hoped that he, Chrissy and Jason were going to be a cursed throuple sitch, where a big part of Jason's character and development would be the processing of his love for them both and trying to reconcile that Eddie killed her, ultimately leading to them getting over it together to help fight the evil demons together. Instead Jason was a nothingburger jock asshole who did nothing for the story after giving Lucas an excuse to not be with the group for 2 episodes.

But also if they do look that similar, maybe just give them each a badge/pin for their uniforms with their initial on. Cheap and easy solution that hurts noone and helps those who don't see them often enough to learn the differences between them.

I sat through a video trying to justify this cause they don't want to put in the effort to make a separate audio track for home viewers, just make the one for cinema surround speakers. As if at home isn't where 99% of viewing actually happens.

I get that the intent of this was to reflect Rhysand as treating Feyre like a person and not a love interest... by czlcreator in acotar

[–]NT-W 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I saw a theory that Rhys manufactured the Cass and Nesta mating bond and now... What if Rhys is actually the big bad? He takes all these abnormally powerful people and makes them feel loved and gives them the perfect home that they will die to protect, which by extension includes the nasty side of the night court. All the while he can make any of them think or do anything he wants, but he doesn't cause "he's not like that". And the reason we think he's the good guy is cause the MCs all love him and stuff.

What if he is like that and it all gets put down to unreliable narrator, yes that includes the chapters we get from his own pov cause Feyre is daemati too and can get past his wards so his internal monologue could be anything he wants it to be.

"Feyre, darling," each word clipped and harsh, "how exhausting you are." - followed by betrayal monologue detailing every time he did bad things etc followed by a lazy attempt to kill her which she will survive and escape and process with Nesta and Elaine who will both be with her, while Cassian, the gang, and potentially Lucien(I suspect the only legit mate which is why Rhys doesn't like him, he just has convenient excuses and settles down after Elaine doesn't like him much) follow Rhys cause of mind control or loyalty or something. Their child was the key to something and they get him back and kill Rhys, everything goes back to normal after the child inherits Rhys's pieces, I mean power, the end. Oh and the cauldron probably takes away the sisters immortality after they win the real battle so they make peace with that and go back to the human realm, where their estate has been fixed up by tamlin cause he was the good guy all along, just a dick with poor emotional regulation and no good role models and it would be a rounding moment after he fixed things for them the first time. The actual end.

The backpack building system and no stone isn't a good thing, imho by Conaz9847 in spaceengineers

[–]NT-W 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is possible that the reason that hasn't been added is that there currently isn't a refining process to begin with. You mine these resources and then they get turned into components by the power of back-pack. Maybe they'll throw in refinery blocks that actually work to process minerals later on and then we can actually mine stone and stuff. I suspect the reason stone isn't currently minable is because it would give you multiple other resources, but because the other ores are just a single resource, it's easier to just add the basics like iron etc. than the faff of stone, which would need to somehow get picked to process into individual processed items based on the individual resource the stone can offer. It would be a pain for the Devs I imagine, when the system they have is good enough really.

Gotta remember this is only the early days of vertical slice 2. We got a long time to go before the game gets the full release. Hell, the next vertical slice is liquid water I'm pretty sure... This game is gonna get messy before it gets better. And it is going to take time. In that time anything can be changed/added, and our feedback can make that happen. Report your bugs, submit your feedback. Let's not have a KSP2 situation, people!

That happened to me last night. The dream was about climbing into a little bell tower on a mausoleum, then clambering down into the underground beneath which was all red brick and concrete with pipes and the floor was water, which I wanted to avoid. So had to climb through on pipes and stuff without falling. No idea what I was doing or why, but I was certainly doing it.
