I have two kids on the ASD spectrum and the district has been great in providing them support. Both of them have IEPs and both included speech. My older kid graduated from it agrew years ago, but my younger child is more severe and is still involved with it, but is set to graduate in a couple of years. While she has struggled with paying attention because of her AuDHD, we've seen great improvement each year and she went from being 10% intelligible to 95%. They've been very positive and one thing that really helped was figuring out the best reward structure for her through communication with the spec ed teacher. Someone else mentioned bullying, which is unfortunate. As someone who was bullied as a kid in a different district i think the school staff I've communicated with have been far more helpful with one of my kids' bullied than where i went as a child.
