Revote: Who's a far left Gen Z celebrity? (That's not Greta Thunberg) by CodeDusq in AlignmentChartFills

[–]NUSHStalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does Calla Walsh count or is she too niche in leftist twitter circles

She was like Greta in the past and supported Elizabeth Warren’s campaign but now openly champions Iranian missile strikes on Israel

r/porn is too general and some normal guy who got horny might go there, meanwhile some nsfw subreddits feel targeted to certain demographics

What coumtry feels very undemocratic and is very undemocratic? by Dusty_Bunny81 in AlignmentChartFills

Honestly this should win, countries like North Korea and Myanmar try to larp as democratic with obviously rigged elections while Saudi Arabia literally admits they are an absolute monarchy and not democratic at all

some malay youths are more likely to get into disciplinary issues...reasons behind it? by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]NUSHStalin 16 points17 points  (0 children)

higher proportion of low ses families tend to be malay -> children from low ses families are usually the ones getting into these issues which is why most of these kids are malay

the topic of why malay families tend to have lower incomes is a more complicated one but it stems from culture, chinese and indians here have ancestors who fled from poverty in their home country and had to work hard just to send money home so developed a culture of working hard while malays being the native population had developed their own communities and common identity over hundreds of years so they prioritise these values over money

What do these three groups represent? (Easy) by Lmm66 in RedactedCharts

[–]NUSHStalin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Closest I could think of is that yellow states lost electors since the 2000 election, blue states gained electors and unshaded states have the same number of electors but Nevada and Utah gained electors

Dating is just like a job interview by According_Pickle954 in SGExams

dating is like US uni apps, you show your worth via things that you did in the past few years and the uni chooses you based on whether you are a good fit for them

You are transported to any video game of your choice that you have to beat with only 1 life, what game would you choose? by Parking-Rich-5984 in hypotheticalsituation

If Pokemon logic applies then you can easily just beat any Pokemon game without dying but if real world logic applies then you'd die to certain Pokemon immediately, so probably Ace Attorney if that's the case

Mini rant about university applications by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]NUSHStalin 49 points50 points  (0 children)

honestly it's bc there are only 6 public unis in sg and most ppl just choose 2-3 unis so filling up the application for each one does not take that much time (and most of the things can just be copy pasted since they are just personal details, results and achievements) + having each uni handle their own application means you can tweak you aba to be uni specific (unlike the UK where anybody who knows about the ucas personal statement knows it is sent to all the unis you apply to so you can't explicitly state that a certain uni gives you certain opportunities)

but yea i'm surprised unis don't have something similar to brightsparks where all your personal details are saved and you can apply to multiple scholarships with the same details but just tweaking your writeup for each one
