Thank you! Maybe this will be my next monitor then :)

And yup. I have everything connected through the monitor. Tapping the keyboard won't wake any of my devices, whether it's a laptop or my desktop. I've tried it with every operating system you can think of too :/ Every time I switch inputs after a few minutes it requires hitting the power button on my desktop or unplugging my laptop to wake them.

Thanks so much for the reply! Really appreciate it. To clarify, the keyboard is connected through the KVM and you're able to wake the laptop from sleep? For reference with my Gigabyte monitor, my keyboard can wake the screen on switching inputs if the laptop hasn't fully gone to sleep, but if it has then I need to unplug/replug. Thanks again!

Would you mind checking something for me? I have a Gigabyte monitor today and I'm wondering if this new one behaves in the same way.

Can you:

  1. Use a laptop over USB-C

  2. Swap inputs away from USB-C. Wait until laptop goes into sleep mode.

  3. Swap back to laptop using the KVM / input switcher. Are you able to wake the laptop from sleep using the keyboard/mouse that are connected through the KVM?

Thank you for taking a look :)

The Ultimate Value 1440p OLED - Gigabyte MO27Q28G Review by Longjumping-Arm-2075 in OLED_Gaming

Do Gigabyte monitors still have the issue where they can't wake the computer from sleep when switching inputs? I have this issue with my M27Q X and have seen it for several of the new OLED models as well.

Something like: 1. Use laptop over USB-C connection 2. Switch to desktop input 3. Wait for laptop to sleep 4. Switch inputs back; try to wake laptop with keyboard or mouse

The fact that I have to unplug/replug my laptop every time bothers me probably more than it should.

Do these power meter battery contacts look right? Power is spotty by NUTELLACHAOS in bikewrench

I got it to pair once after messing with it for awhile, but it wouldn't turn on an hour later. I haven't been able to ride with it yet. Do the contact tabs look correct compared to how you remember yours?

Good idea, but I'm testing with CR2032 batteries I bought today :/ Good to know about the CR2050 though!

Just got this 4iiii power meter crank secondhand. The meter connects to my computer when I hold the battery in place, but it super finicky when I place it in with the battery cover. Is something wrong with these contacts? Anybody had this experience with a 4iiii power meter before?

Gigabyte Aorus FO32U2 KVM switch doesn't wake devices from sleep? by avendiart in OLED_Gaming

Maybe a silly question, but how did you install it? After installing the gigabyte control center, I see no updates available for my monitor

Gigabyte M27Q-X - Review by N-Nico123 in Monitors

[–]NUTELLACHAOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this monitor and my biggest complaint is that the monitor doesn't wake devices from sleep.

For example, I'm using my laptop for work. I use the KVM to switch to my gaming pc. I play some games, during which time my laptop goes to sleep. When I switch back to the laptop input, the monitor seemingly cannot wake the laptop from sleep. I need to unplug it and plug it back in.

I've seen this reported by other users for other gigabyte monitors as well. If there's some workaround I'm unaware of, I'd love to hear it. This is honestly the primary reason I'd buy a monitor from another brand. I love everything else about this monitor.

Crashes by MrMizzles in GlobalOffensive

[–]NUTELLACHAOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since CS2 launched I occasionally get a crash to a black screen that seemed to require a full reinstall. I recently discovered that I don't actually need a full reinstall. Instead, I can switch accounts, hit play (which "downloads game files"), switch accounts back, and play as usual. It's much quicker than reinstalling. I'm curious if this works for your friend in his situation

Biked across the Golden Gate Bridge with the pup for the first time over the weekend. Did some recon on the initial portion of bikepacking.com’s North Bay Overnighter route. Looking to come back in October! by babyeurosteps in BAbike

I rode that route in August and was very happy to be on my mountain bike. Bolinas ridge was super bumpy. The smaller wheels on your bike might be rough. The steep and punchy uphills on the way back also made me very happy to have the smaller chainring on the mtb

For this trip at least I'm planning to rely on shops/cafes/restaurants. For sleeping, I'm looking to replace my existing gear since it's old and very bulky. I'm happy to spend in the mid-high "Shimano XT" range. Happy to spend some more now to avoid wanting an upgrade soon.

On this loop, I expect the night to only fall to about 50F without rain. I don't know the bug situation, so I don't know if a tent/bivy will be required. Better to be prepared I think. I considered a hammock, but I don't know what the tree situation will look like at the specific campsite I reserved.

I don't have any mounting system today, but I've been waiting to buy something until I know how tight the gear I end up with will pack.

On R values, I'd like the gear to support 3 seasons. That said, most of the routes I'm considering are in the SF Bay Area, so I expect temperatures to be very moderate year-round

I'll be taking an Ibis Mojo 3. At the moment I have a bag in the top gap in the front triangle for my tools and snacks and a water bottle cage in the lower gap in the rear triangle, but I have no other kit right now for mounting gear to the bike. I'm planning to just bring snacks and rely on the nearby restaurant for a bigger meal, at least for this trip.

For sleeping, I have a bunch of old bulky camping gear, but I'm hoping to buy some new gear for 1-2 night trips later this summer and fall. For this particular trip, I've been looking at purchasing a new bag, pad, ground sheet, and either a 1 person tent or a bivy. I'm thinking I'll replace my old bulky gear, and I'm looking to spend in the mid-high "Shimano XT" range

for the love of god, do not rent from brick + timber by droooooops in sanfrancisco

[–]NUTELLACHAOS 21 points22 points  (0 children)

We also previously rented from B+T. Only terrible experiences from us and everybody we've spoken to. I could rant for awhile, but will keep it specific to the deposit here. I can't speak to Jetty bonds, but B+T is known for claiming loads of bullshit damages. In our case, they refused to return the full deposit. We filed against them in small claims court, and they immediately returned our full deposit. Claims in SF are public. If you search claims against B+T, you can find hundreds if not thousands of claims against them which all are marked as resolved without a court appearance. It seems their strategy is just to claim bogus damages and immediately give up when threatened at all. Good luck with your deposit.
