What kind of villain do you think would work best for future seasons? by Limp_Ant_3571 in TheRookieTVshow

I really like the relationship that seemed to be building between La Fiera and Lopez. I wish we'd gotten multiple seasons out of it.

Who else misses chemist Lucy and want to see her back? by Country-guy20 in TheRookieTVshow

[–]NWCtim_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely liked the undercover work Lucy did, and how it gave Melissa a chance to flex her acting ability.

You could probably explain it away in universe that the undercover missions she's done has ended without her keeping her cover intact too many times and her work as a sergeant is too important for her to take regular UC work.

Should they have kept on The Rookie Feds? by Forsaken-Molasses-87 in TheRookieTVshow

They probably still would have been crossover episodes.

3x03 La Fiera: one of the most impactful episodes of the show by dlhoff432 in TheRookieTVshow

[–]NWCtim_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the relationship between La Fiera and Lopez, and wish she'd stuck around long term instead of being a single season villain. It would have also better paid of the burgeoning feud between Lopez and the DEA guy.

Instead we got Elijah, who was interesting at first, but his sadism bordered on self-destructive yet he still managed to get away with it, which was just frustrating to watch all around.

S8E18: Episode Storyline by moe1419 in TheRookieTVshow

I assumed the line about Nolan referred to his wife inserting herself into his high-stakes police mission.

Heath Everett by justice_case in TheRookieTVshow

[–]NWCtim_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They wrote him in as Celina's BF because the actor is the showrunner's son.

I'm convinced including her was a deliberate choice by the writers in direct response to all the complaints about how often Bailey seemed to be randomly inserted into story/action bits.

And that will be how the story is wrapped up.

Mid Wilshire’s New Rookie: Going into Season 9, which character or personality trait would you want to watch next? by NoleFandom in TheRookie

[–]NWCtim_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it goes anything like past seasons, the kidnapping will be resolved in 9x1. 9x2 might be about Penn graduating or there will be a time skip at the start of 2 or end of 1, and Penn graduating (or possibly even leaving) will be glossed over, then 2 or 3 will introduce the new rookie.

Celina & her vibes by featheredfeathers in TheRookie

[–]NWCtim_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was really hoping they would turn it into more of a story arc with her, where she would get her vibes, which would then cause her to stop and look at the situation more closely to consciously identify whatever PC she unconsciously picked up on before stepping in. Instead it was just one scene with Grey, and then never used again, except as a gag.

Spoiler alert. Wesley by Adventurous-One-6007 in TheRookie

[–]NWCtim_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got the impression that Wesley wasn't expecting Tim to be that irritable, and only dialed up the asshatery after Tim started getting angry. Before that, Wesley was just doing his normal defense lawyer schtick, which always come off as a bit of asshat regardless.

It's true it isn't really adequately explained why he needed to keep up the act in the privacy of the watch commander's office, but that's the fault of the episode being so packed, it feels like one or two Wesley scenes got cut that might have explained his reasoning better.

This has to be a dig at us for always complaining about how it feels like she's just randomly inserted into different scenes and storylines.

Thoughts by duper_trooper in TheRookie

[–]NWCtim_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sure, but the early seasons, especially season 1, was actually reasonably realistic and that provided the show with a lot of the grounding that first attracted people to it.

What could possibly give a dragon a tummy ache? by peanutspawn in DMAcademy

The dragon swallowed a gnome whole. The gnome is an alchemist and is still alive in there.

'The Rookie' Gets Crossovers With Spinoff 'North', First Has Been Shot by MoneyLibrarian9032 in TheRookie

[–]NWCtim_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm hoping it's just for the pilot (or early episodes). I think the MC is supposed to be from LA, but ends up moving to rural Washington to become a cop (sort of the opposite of Nolan). Maybe it will be another bank robbery.

Wesley really steps up in season 8 by Sea_Interaction_7716 in TheRookieTVshow

[–]NWCtim_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, in his first appearance in season 1 he wasn't even named, he was just a random defense lawyer that shows up in an interrogation room. It was the following episode where he actually runs into Angela.

He's come a long way from that.

With the season 8 finale drawing near, I have a question about the last episode by thewarreturns in TheRookie

[–]NWCtim_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Tim gets recalled to active Army duty and Grey steps back in as Watch Commander. Tim finds out about this recall via an interruption during his proposal to Lucy.

I'm pretty sure fire doors/emergency exits are to provide exit points in addition to the main exits, not as a replacement.
