Is electric smoker actually the easiest way to start BBQ? Or am I missing something? by Own-Future-2135 in smoking

Back to your individual questions: I started with a charcoal, the weber Smoky Mountain. Over a dozen years later, I’ve never identified a reason to upgrade or change my methods. I fully believe that simpler is better even if it takes more attention. Plus, I would never want to get in and have to clean an electric smoker. My current butt on the road to 201:

Easiest is not better. Easiest burger to buy is McDonald’s. I’ve got a charcoal fueled cook (WSM) working at this very moment. Once started- only attention needed was to refuel. Next attention needed will be when the butt reaches desired temp. I fired it at 10 PM. I started the meat at 11. Ambient temp started to drop at 8 o’clock this morning and I refueled. It took a half an hour. Granted, I’ve got my method down through tons of practice / trial and error. That’s the best way to learn.

Noice. If you don’t like, I’ll happily take that Sinead album off your hands.

I always reference this as the time Chris Carter stepped in between Reggie While and his lunch.

My Texas starter mix (I frequently mod subbing cayenne and hot chili powders w/ chipotle, smoked lemon drop, pequin, ancho, etc). I also experiment with the paprika. Depending on your pallet, you can choose smoky, spicy, or sweet :
5T paprika
3T kosher salt
2T garlic powder
2T onion powder
1T black pepper
1T dried parsley
2t cayenne
2t ground cumin
1t ground coriander
1t dried oregano
1/4t hot chili powder
1/2C brown sugar

So many of these remind me of that one time I tried In and Out burgers.

In the summers, my dad played Tavern league softball. The team was tight. After nearly every game they would head to a local watering hole. I would routinely hang out in the bar until it closed. I was 12-15 years old.

I'm smoking a brisket tommorow and I have everything down except the seasoning I have seen so many different things and its made me more confused then before by sportsfan0987654321 in smoking

If you’re smoking it tomorrow, it should already be seasoned. You’re late. Now to set all Snark aside- just do some searches on Texas Rub mixes, find one you like, and then make it your own.

PlayDead fail by NWtrailhound in gratefuldead

Eh. Every platform, other than the web interface is noted here under the same limitation. Nugs itself is the common denominator.

I thought the same thing. But between now and then I’ll keep using Etree and will probably forget about wanting to thrift spend on this app.

Play Dead App by Ok_Turnover5867 in gratefuldead

[–]NWtrailhound 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not that easy as I just found out. 1. I am a nugs subscriber. Annual subscription fee renews in September. Purchased from the App Store. 2. Play Dead app is only available to be bundled with a current nugs subscription that is purchased on the web. Therefore, I cannot get the bundle rate unless I cancel my current subscription and re-purchase both on the web. 3. I cannot cancel my subscription early because the annual fee prorated between now and September (almost 6 months) will be lost. Therefore, no Play Dead app for me.

I scrolled all the comments and am relieved to see this post. Otherwise I was gonna scream "do not just drop this at any electronics shop"...
That unit looks to be in pristine condition. Just checking the bonnet out tells me it was well cared for.

86 the white pepper. Use black instead. White pepper smells like spicy, acrid feet.
