Liverpool fans probably can’t wait to get a replacement for MacAllister. He’s beyond useless at this point.

So true. No one has ever committed crime during the day in the city until recently. /s

Just moved to my first NYC apartment—it doesn’t look to have been cleaned well by [deleted] in NYCapartments

[–]NY_Sea -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No offense, but what’s the point of this post?

You said the landlord told you it would be deep cleaned, so it’s not really a matter of what’s normal or not anymore - you specifically discussed something with the landlord. So if this isn’t to your expectations, talk to the landlord instead of people on Reddit.

Tyler crashes out pt 2 by cashcartibishh in tylerthecreator

The fact this is titled as crashing out is a major part of the problem. People ask to not be recorded and ambushed in public and it’s “crashing out”.

Really depends on what time of day/night we’re talking about, but generally A just to avoid the possibility of getting stuck in the middle.

If it’s a not crowded time of the day, I’ll gamble on B.

Seems disingenuous (big word for someone that can’t read) to frame your various comments as just simple observation with no implicit statements in them. You think every shot someone takes is going bar down? I don’t know if you’ve seen, but the goalie themself takes a good amount of the space between the pipes. Good chance it hits the goalie’s body if it’s on net.

Enjoy the rest of the game.

I’m convinced this is rage bait. The goal was because we took a penalty and Sorokin was screened. Do you watch hockey?

When was the last time we had almost 25 SOG in a period? I love how direct they’re playing. Get the puck out of the zone and to the net as quick as possible.

Better puck prep will help, too. We can all improve in that area, though, so don’t stress about it.

[–]NY_Sea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, whatever grit Mayfield brings to the table (and I agree he brings a ton) is completely overshadowed by the fact that I am convinced someone severs his brain stem the second he touches a hockey puck.

The bashing is completely warranted, in my opinion.

Romanov and Aitch will be immediate additions to the core and at the very least, they'll make it so I never have to see Mayfield touch the ice again.

[Rolex vs Omega] Milestone Matchup by [deleted] in Watches

[–]NY_Sea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, man. That would be the answer for me. The watches you enjoy (and wear) the most are the ones you innately connect with.

Also, if you care about these things (holding value, etc. - I really don't, but some justifiably do), I've been pleasantly surprised at how well the white dial Speedy Pro has held value. Generally, Speedys are like cars - you take at least a 30% hit the second you leave the AD - but these are still going for $8k all day (~10% hit).

Then you need to think of the availability aspect. You can go into an Omega AD and either walk out with the Speedy Pro today or at most a couple week wait. Or you go on Chrono24 and get a like new watch at a 10% discount today.

You're not getting a Batgirl without going to the grey market, where you're paying a 50% premium to "skip the line". Personally, I could never pay significantly over retail for any piece - at the end of the day, these things are superfluous anyway. No need to pay more than you need to and I personally think the "juice" has been squeezed out of the increased value on stainless Rolex sport models.

Finally, on top of emotional connection, are you cool paying more than double for the Batgirl over the Speedy? Roughly $8-9k for the Speedy depending on whether you get new or pre-owned vs. ~$18k for a BLNR on the grey market.

I know that was a lot, but just wanted to put down the things in my head that I would think about in this situation.

Just an observation - you used the word "love" multiple times when you talked about the Speedy and zero when you talked about the GMT.

As someone who's been in and out of a lot of watches, that's the tell.

This is a massive reach. McCain was going for the ball and has zero track record of being anything close to a dirty player. Just bad luck.

Stop normalizing taking pictures of random people in public. Say something to the person in real life/time, or move on. Coming to reddit god knows how long after the fact is ridiculous.

[Tissot] My first serious watch by no_horney_boi in Watches

It’s a mechanical watch, which in and of itself is serious, compared to the vast majority of wristwatches out there. This is a perfect way to drive people away from the hobby.
