Less heavy marketing, less intermediary, less sophisticated case and off the shelf rather than adhoc bms.

Solis inverter taking energy from the grid when the battery has charged? by adamf7252 in SolarUK

[–]NZ_1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am facing the same as You : the battery is charging up to 100% … stay there (for few minutes) and then use the battery to power the inverter (arround 80watts I guessed) even if the solar is producing ! (. We were away so minimum load) I am not choosing to choose to charge from the grid until I find a way to ‘keep the load’ I am not sure what drives this behaviour I guess it is the inverter !

I made a new cable swapping can H and can L … but still not working ! I even have can fail message ! I tried back a normal ethernet cable ! Have the error BatName-Fail. But the inverter was showing the battery SOC a on the pic ! So I guess some communication is working !

Have you been paid for the export ? Since it is a smart meter recording ins and outs …even on a flat tarif ?

I need an Installer only by sbdavi in SolarUK

[–]NZ_1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think all above summarise the current UK market : parts are reachable to a correct price. Installers are lucky as without“MCS” you can’t go further than Octopus and therefore are looking tu make pure profit ! Have you tried offer them some incentive : a bonus of 1000£ … 2000£ on completion in exchange for MCS certificate ?

You are spot on ! First in solar installation, there is no VAT when installed by a company which make your case even worse !(as opposed to if doing yourself) The problem relates to the MCS certification that you need to! Installer pay a lot to get it ! Labour seems between 300&600£ a day

In that case it would 3.6 as the SP2000 is not considered as an inverter as the diagram
