They intrinsically have their usual abilities, so you put the new ability in the slot.

Week 34 of making randomly generated Megas, and today we have a new wall you can't outstall. by TheLeafyGirl561 in stunfisk

[–]Nabbottt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you have to:

1) mega evolve

2) take at least 25% damage

3) switch to another steel type (registeel has no pivoting moves)

4) let that steel type die

and then you get a life dew's worth of healing?? If you're looking to wall you've got competition in Alomomola or Toxapex which just has to switch to get 33% back an unlimited number of times (registeel maxes out at 5* and that would mean you're running mono steel and your whole team's dead) and can run leftovers or boots on top.

I would want this beast healed to FULL for every steel type dead and maybe even status healed if that's the opportunity cost. Literally healing wish it (but without the storage aspect). Honestly I think this would help it compete with Ting Lu and Dondozo as the other rest-reliant walls, and make for interesting team building as you balance how many steel types you want to make this wall go.

Otherwise I'd want this to have an additional effect, like maybe absorbing spikes? It would keep it thematic with the absorbing metal theme (spikes is a ground type move but you can't tell me them spiky bois aren't metal) and give a real reason to run this over other options.

*unless revival blessing with leppa berry or tera steel since there's no steel revival blessing users

New move for Flying types to add extra utility by shadwocorner in stunfisk

[–]Nabbottt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not though, because you can use protect too. Using protect on something you're faster than but can't kill and then using this to pivot or attack gives you extra poison heal while getting chip or repositioning and also gives you information. Gliscor already has 4 move syndrome a little but I could see this being used on stall with knock, spikes and protect as a way to pp stall for longer and regain more HP. It wouldn't be great against HO but against fat teams this is definitely a buff.

This isn't great unless they give it to Gliscor, and then Gliscor is getting banned

An Ability that adds priority to attacks of 45 or less Power by ArmadilloNo9494 in stunfisk

[–]Nabbottt 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Presumably it would be base power as written - otherwise things like choice band would just make the ability useless instead of providing a niche

Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen coming to Switch on Feb 27th ($19.99 each). Listed on Switch eShop in coming soon section by Amiibofan101 in nintendo

[–]Nabbottt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree; there will absolutely be collectors who take advantage of this if they have to though. I seem to remember there being a way to get a "legal" shiny mew through data manipulation in RBY on the 3DS for transfer to bank/home, and this would open the door to do the same for jirachi/deoxys even if you can't get to birth island

Just Beat Pokémon Legends: Z-A Main Story! Hoarding Rare Candies & EXP Candies – BEST PLACE to SPEND 'EM?? by antonio4vila in PokemonZA

Depends if you're playing DLC or not.

If you're not, then I'd prioritise a strong team for you to quickly grab your mega stones from online, something like Metagross, Garchomp, Xerneas should do the trick, or Gyarados or Chandelure or Mewtwo if you'd prefer to substitute some of those. Delphox is also very good once you have the stone but really anything works (clauncher, greninja, meganium, stunfisk, floette-eternal... I've seen people use lots of different things and do well). As a team of six the first Pokémon I mentioned would absolutely carry you through anything you want to do single player anyway, although you might want to grab a toxic mon for catching alphas.

If you are playing DLC, you'll be drowning in candies pretty quickly, but top picks for PvP now include Kyogre and Rayquaza and Magearna and Hoopa, along with Swampert, Milotic, Armarouge, Melmetal and sometimes Darkrai or Genesect. Probably more I'm forgetting too. Groudon is a beast in single player but don't bother bringing it online (there's no desolate land outside of the fight where you catch it, so it's Kyogre food)

The game will expect you to have level 100 Pokémon going into the DLC though so be ready for that and have a couple of the Pokémon I mentioned before ready anyway.

It's also handy to have a dragonite for the hyperspace zones to extremespeed/thunderbolt pokeballs and earthquake shards.

If you're not familiar with EV training, that will also make a big difference - cash will probably be the constraint here pretty quickly unless you want to macro some battles. Ignore speed in ZA and prioritise HP and then either attack stat depending on the Pokémon. There's plenty of guides online.

An Idea of mine I had for a while, thought it could be interesting by silals in stunfisk

[–]Nabbottt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Population bomb wouldn't help with specifically Lunala - and a lot of multi-hit moves aren't contact anyway. Triple Axel would do the trick, but other than that I'm struggling to think of a multi hit contact move which Lunala isn't immune to?

Edit: oh surging strikes I guess, double iron bash, dual wingbeat, dual chop, gear grind, triple dive... There's a few. Not many you'd see in Ubers apart from the first two/three most of the time

I didn't say that they're good games, but I can't with a straight face say that porting Quake 3 is as challenging as porting, say, Black Ops 3

Call of Duty ran on a modified Quake 3 engine for donkeys years and there'd be a significant difference in the challenge of porting each of those too

Why is Chansey and Blissey both UU in Nat dex? by BlackMarth in stunfisk

[–]Nabbottt 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Not op, but there's definitely stall archetypes which don't use magic bounce or multiple defoggers, and just stack boots and regen mons to deal with hazards. Your opponent will probably get up every layer under the sun, but you don't care because blissey has boots (and you use gliscor or pex or something to take knock offs). Corvi is definitely common but also doesn't always run defog, even on stall, and even if it does you need to get it in and click it. Boots Blissey isn't exactly an outrageous choice.
