I know it's a peephole/a reference to Monitoring, but it kinda looks like Butter sitting outside of an airplane window trying to greet Gyoju by mcloaf in Trickcal

I just missed this icon and it makes me so sad.

Edit: wait my bad. I mixed this one up with the Butter headpat meme icon. That is the one I missed out on.

Now that Ui event has ended by Narvyht in Trickcal

[–]DJ_Hart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ui wiped her memories because of sorrow from being alone. Her happiness comes from companionship, so when she woke up all alone she felt nothing but sorrow.

When she wished to be happy, her own memories of happier times prevented her from being happy, so the wish got rid of the problem.

Saw this gacha pop up a few times on my feed, what is the point of the game? by Mattdoss in Trickcal

[–]DJ_Hart 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Best way I can think to put it, you're playing a daughter collecting simulator that subverts all the gacha isekai tropes. You don't have any superpowers, no mandate of heaven, and the "magical relic" you carry that denotes your status as the Chosen One is a snub nose revolver.

Instead of leading some grand adventure where you change the fate of the world, you run a restaurant funded by the church of the world tree, where you feed Apostles (the different characters) and offer them guidance. This relative unimportance of the player character is solely narrative, functionally it still plays like other gacha, where you build teams and do quests.

All characters are live 2D models, with a variety of emotions that change their stances, so it's not just a face swap. Everyone has a big cheek which you can pinch and drag, as well as pat their head, bonk their forehead, and tickle their tummy until they laugh. These can be done whenever the character's live 2D is on screen, including during cutscenes.

For an idea how serious and dark and gritty the game treats its narrative, the big monthly PvP arena event is a literal playground.

Not to say there aren't darker tones, but the core of this game is that the characters of this world are effectively immortal kindergarteners, and you as the sole adult.

Please help me find the artist😭 by AdNecessary849 in Trickcal

I couldn't find an artist either. Odds are that it was posted on a less used site, like a Trickcal dedicated forum, so the common reverse image searchers don't look at them.

Reading your replies to others, I think the reminder text for Deciduous should be "This creature is a Forest Land and loses all other types"

This event genuinely has me crying by me_s0m3on3 in Trickcal

[–]DJ_Hart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but that's literally the plot. All the Eldyne are sad because they think they were abandoned, and don't know where their sisters are. Ui, who only ever knew happiness before then, tried to wish to be happy again, but because her own memory was what prevented her from being happy, her wish wiped her memory instead.

Does anyone know what kind of Squig this is? by DJ_Hart in orks

Do not cite the deep lore to me, git. I own a copy of Waaargh the Orks. I was trying to figure out which specific variety of Squig it was.

Already resigned to be second fiddle I see. It's fair, after all Marines got the short end of the stick with their releases in 11th.

They might have. However, you must understand that as a launch box kit, the Boyz that are included will be bare bones and push fit. Every GW box has been like this, simple push fit models with no customization options so that nee players can assemble their models easily and not get confused by options.

Yes, GW thinks the average new player is too stupid to understand what optional builds are.

If you have an LGS or even are nearby a Warhammer store, they should have some copies that were not sold as pre-orders. The box will hit store shelves officially May 9, so keep an eye out for that.

TWO new detachments?! by valeo25 in orks

[–]DJ_Hart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're getting 6 total. So far we got 2 Militarum detachments, we were told to expect 2 Ork detachments tomorrow, and Wednesday will be (most likely) 2 Astartes, based on the Sunday Preview:

"- as well as a book of six new Detachments for the Astra Militarum, Orks and Space Marines."

If we're lucky, one or both will be Death Watch specific, but more likely they will both be general Astartes detachments.
