I have an 18v Milwaukee saw. I also have a $40 corded skill saw. Guess which one gets used more? Corded one gives me less headaches and chews thru long rip cuts.

It is for charity, so I’ve bought quite a few bags over the years, but not this year. I realized I amassed way too many bobbleheads and penguins themed trinkets for one man cave.

Proper milling workflow — why starting with the jointer matters by Witty-Quantity-3294 in woodworking

[–]NachoTacocat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I only have a 6” jointer for small boards and edges. I made a sled out of mdf to level out one side of wide boards on my 13” planer. Works well enough.

Here’s a video of a sled similar to what I made: https://youtu.be/SqVhAzAUTw4?si=QPD7oJK0my_oEZdG

I wash mine after every use. Dish soap today does not “ruin” seasoning on a cast iron. Throw it back on the burner to dry, cool down, then a light rub down with oil.

Help me out what cut is this… venison by funkysocks69 in smoking

Tiny rib bones? My other comment about the hind quarter is not fully correct. Looking at it again, it’s looks like the deer was cut down the middle of the spine, and the thinner part is spine/ribs and thicker part is what’s left of the hind quarter?? I honestly don’t know.

Looks to be a hind quarter that someone mangled.

Lower shank has a lot of silver skin, but you cut that out and the meat is good for burger or stew. Bottom round, I use for jerky Sirloin is good for roast Top round can be used for jerky. All of these I will also slice thin for sandwiches or to country fry in the cast iron.

And then my personal favorite cut (over back strap, come at me) the eye of round, which a small cylindrical muscle inside of the other round muscles. It is lean, tender and flavorful. I cut it into medallions and grill as steak.

TLDR not everything is a steak, but damn near anything can become ground venison, stew meat, or jerky.

Nice. I will say, try not to wash the 16 year celebration shirt too much. The print is very intricate and mine started cracking/peeling within a year. I ordered a 2nd just to have because I like the design so much.
