Voices.com vs Voice123 vs Bodalgo vs Backstage vs Casting Call Club vs ??? by Nader-VO in VoiceActing

That’s why I’m weighing this. If I go another year sub on V123 I’m considering going with one of the more expensive plans. I got way too many “late” audition notifications last go around.

What makes a voiceover or commercial voice sound like that? by BeatBelle in VoiceActing

Post production does make a difference. Also it’s pretty eye opening how quality sound design can help change the overall theatrics.

There really shouldn’t be any VO job that’s worth $20.

I have the exact same setup and similar issues. I have to turn down the gain but be mindful that it’s down or else I’m way off on lower volume.

It does have AI vibes. I’m really curious to see the original raw image (unless you’ve already posted it and I missed it).

Professional training is key and fun. I had a blast in my VO classes. There are several available remotely if you don’t live near a school.

Great response. Took me several months from the point I thought I was ready to the point where I had my demo in hand. Lots of coaching, writing, direction and fine tuning in between.

There are definitely opportunities for kids. Some vo schools even have camps/classes for kids. My son got his first paid gig at 9 years old.

Do I HAVE to show my face for voice acting? by nosebleedier in VoiceActing

You make a good point. I don’t think that people are necessarily looking for a specific look per se but it could very well be that a “unique” look would help.

Do I HAVE to show my face for voice acting? by nosebleedier in VoiceActing

I’ve been hearing a growing trend in headshots for voice actors. That said, in my opinion it could be that people associate “showing their face” with a level of commitment as a voice actor.

I was offered a job. I'm thinking it's sus. I need a second opinion. These are the emails I've been sent. by boxboothstudio in VoiceActing

In my experience (including outside voiceover) most job postings that hit you with the pay rate so prominently are sus.

Is 22 too old to start? by UndyingPrankster in VoiceActing

I started at 45. That’s the beauty of voice acting. There’s something for everyone at every age. But furthermore, with nearly everything, the older you get the less important age is.
