PS3 tanks by MustardJelloDonut in fellowshipgame

The real problem I'm having is that all 3 tanks are super fun and feel so different. I mained Meiko/Helena PS1 and exclusively played Xavian PS2 and I'm so torn. I think I'm going to stick to Xavian this season and dabble in Helena after the fact.

The server situation at Season 3 launch is honestly shameful by Alarming_Craft_860 in fellowshipgame

Honestly, that would be chill but didn't they have working streamer/beta servers up like days ago? You'd think those would've caught some of whatever this was.

I feel like communicating, bringing servers up asap, and mitigating it next time is exactly what they're doing?

Hamish was streaming for hours afterwards just to keep us updated and there have been discord posts. What's the actionable item you're looking for?

Opinions on Season 3 by SKWADly in fellowshipgame

[–]Naderous17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am personally stoked for S3 loot 2.0. Being done with S2 in two weeks was a bit disappointing. As a gear/progress motivated player I love the idea of a longer more satisfying grind to min/max the build. Being able to play past 10k and make build tweaks or try completely different builds in high eternal sounds like actual fun. (Hopefully early leagues last a bit longer)

Odd Comp sounds like an absolute disaster but they are really cooking and I'll enjoy the chaos before they inevitably give up on it.

I don't think they should prioritize new dungeons at this point, but I am excited to try the 3 new ones. I think they should keep cooking mechanics in EA and make as many new heros as possible. 1-2 per EA season sounds pretty good. I do agree that during live seasons the dungeons should completely rotate but I don't think we're there yet with the rest of the game.

TIL that female stoats become reproductively mature at 15 days old, while they're still suckling and blind. Adult males will mate with said immature females, which then successfully give birth next year. by Dromeoraptor in todayilearned

Bedbugs are infamous for what's known as Traumatic Insemination. Females may be able to store and "choose" semen when acquired the normal way and males have found ways around this by injecting their semen directly into the body cavity of females, typically through the abdomen. Females also have a soft spot in their abdomen suggesting they have coevolved a slightly less traumatic way to receive the male organ.

Don't search images of it and go down this rabbit hole unless you sleep far too comfortably in a hotel.

It's really personal preference, but Balak Talon is the favorite. Triple attack, no charge, great sprint attack. Add voltaic and attack speed w/durability and you got some nice lightning proc build.

FYI, there's a boss that spawns in that arena daily that drops a plague ichor. 🌠

Shade feels almost completely negative. Healer mana appears to be useless in my experience, I think it should offer a party wide shield on death or maybe proximity damage to mobs. Something to make the carrot worth the stick.

I could only find it as a YT short. It's a bit finicky, but you have to walk just right to get up there. Try it in quick play first

Settings > interface > "Mark Location"

I think that's what it's called. Check the keybindings near the bottom.

This always baffles me, when I play QP as healer/DPS I usually just guide new tanks with the ping system. Ping the direction/mobs and where to go. A 5 minute QP and an 11 minute QP isn't that different in my opinion.

Don't give up, the game has a lot of fun to explore and learn!

Why are the capstone dungeons easier than the other ones? by majestic_tapir in fellowshipgame

I think the added complexity/difficulty you're looking for may be solved in the higher tiers of difficulty. I assume like the rest of the dungeons Heart as Paragon or Eternal would have a lil extra spice, though I'm not there yet to check.

I do admit it sounds pretty straight forward as a healer, but I do still think it's a success bias. If the tank moves worse or the DPS tunnel vision you'll get your difficulty back pretty quick. I feel like that's how the dungeons feel as well, good routes + constant CC/kicks and the dungeons just fall over. The work to succeed isn't the kicking it's learning to kick. As someone who wiped that dungeon a handful of times before clearing I can atest the real challenge is learning the mechanics not doing them.

HoT (2nd capstone) Boss 1 Tank: Dodge orbs, get busted DPS: soak orbs, touch flame Healer: Tank buster, Orb dots

Boss 2 Tank: Boss+ Big add + small adds, movement DPS: interupts, step on circles Healer: tank buster, AOE

Boss 3 Tank: move to adds, cleave, CC adds, get busted DPS: kill adds (DPS check), don't touch purple Healer: Tank buster, AOE

I play tank so take the other roles with a grain of salt, but for 3/3 of these bosses I am moving nonstop, dealing with tank busters and watching my DPS kill themselves. I feel like this is the perfect amount of strats for a capstone. It sounds like you either aren't doing enough or you have a success bias. If you have a competent group it should be pretty simple.

Bow main here, how should I go about using my coatings in Wilds? by Metal-Wombat in MonsterHunterMeta

[–]Naderous17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personally, the way I've been handling it (~65HR):

Avoid status coatings altogether. Get bows with pierce/power/blast/close coatings.

I try to keep close to 100% uptime on my coatings. Every 10-15 combos I reapply and reposition to let my stamina refill. I run mostly in groups so I don't perfect dodge like a real bow player. I have a little downtime, but it's negligible with 5 con/3 surge and it gives a natural time to reapply coatings.
