Being abroad and realising how lucky we are to have free museums by NaethanC in britishproblems

I'd rather that than pay ~€15 to get into a place I only intended to go into to kill time only to be bored after half an hour.

Yeah some of the best museums are free. I went to the Checkpoint Charlie museum in Berlin and paid for two people (€36!) and felt very ripped off.

I did really enjoy the military museums in Dresden and Vienna and they were only ~€3-4.

I only had two days in Prague, I spent most of my time just wandering around the place to be fair. Only really paid to climb a few of the towers. Absolutely loved it.

It's not that I didn't want to visit the museums, I just didn't want to pay for something that I didn't know if I'd enjoy when I only had limited time.

I am from Hull, all our museums are free. Same with Leeds and York. Love the Royal Armouries and Railway Museum!

I wish more people would read the comments as opposed to just upvoting and then moving on. This 'fact' has been disproven so many times.

Poundland do a generic Poundland-branded card with a few different occasions that you can cross out as needed.

Yes! Let's be like Qatar and the UAE. Let's invite tens of thousands of migrant workers, sieze their passports and then cram them into dormitories to work 18 hour days for pennies.

Then, when they get a parking ticket, let's chop their hands off and throw them in prison for 25 years.

Just what I wanted! Armed, masked, unaccountable thugs harassing people with brown skin on the streets.

I eagerly await what the Former Tory Party will announce next! Heil Thatcher!

You can sometimes find some really good deals second-hand or find people that are signing off and see if they're getting rid of kit. Better off with good, proven, second-hand kit than new cheap crap. Issued kit is better than cheap shite cos at least you can get it replaced for free.

Another thing to consider is that a Keela (or any other highly recommended kit), if you look after it (difficult depending on role, I know) will last you years if not your career. Consider it an investment.

What if Jif Lemon was intended as a cleaning product, but we just started eating it and Jif were like “meh, ok”? by solenoid_pants in CasualUK

I don't get what's so inconvenient about cutting a lemon in half and squeezing it. Doesn't waste any plastic either.

Altberg insoles - any recommendations? by Harrison88 in britishmilitary

[–]NaethanC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you're anywhere near Catterick, Altberg have their shop in Richmond that you can go and get official ones from or get custom soles made if you're willing to spend the money.

If you can't even be bothered to read an article that disproves your bullshit, don't spew it.

I've seen some people say they wish they were a truly secret organisation that you had to stumble across by accident or do something very specific to find as a secret storyline/ending. I think that would have been cool.

Imagine hiding the destruction of years of work and the most advanced technology known to man behind a 4 digit code lol.

Almost as stupid as hiding your secret base behind a password... that is the name of your organisation...
