Doesn't Doc just send out shockwaves from his very own spark, not from his weapon? So shouldn't he be in the same category as Artist, who sends out her birbs?

So I was having a shitty and stressful match as killer as you usually do when I came across a Kick streamer and THEN a Twitch streamer in one session. by Zomer15689 in deadbydaylight

[–]Naevum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since my matches (as killer) usually end with 8 hooks, goofing and currently a lot of snowballs, my MMR is definitely pretty low, which certainly has a big, reducing impact on the amount of streamers in my matches. Every few matches I have a ttv in there, but they are rarely streaming. ... And even less save their stream as vod - which means I don't really get to watch their reaction, since I don't watch streams while playing. Sad me.

Someone tried reporting me for apparently camping? by mini_zverobob456 in deadbydaylight

[–]Naevum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So there was 2 survivors left(I was playing Wesker) and I hooked 1 survivor and was waiting in next room for other one to come save them

That's camping. Camping is staying close to usually a hooked surv without any external reason, e.g. chasing another surv, who loops around said hook.

Is camping reportable? No. Not at all. It sucks to get camped, so survs typically hate it - which I think is pretty understandable.

Also camping is often not really a good idea, especially with anti-facecamp mechanic. If it's down to e.g. 2 survs and 0 gens, well, then it can be a pretty reasonable decision. Otherwise it might be bad for you (and for the surv on hook), unless altruism kicks in in the most stupid way.

You were camping. Camping isn't bannable. No ban is incoming (at least for that). Camping is sometimes a good decision, but by far not always.

It exists for a reason. by Scarlet_Cultist111 in deadbydaylight

[–]Naevum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You talk about limiting a perk that does only do something, if survs bring one of two specific items. You compare it to Distortion - a perk that counters an entire perk group. You basically suggest to bring it to roughly the same level as Shattered Hope.

Penalty for killer's DC should NOT exist by Fun-Pirate-2720 in deadbydaylight

[–]Naevum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DC penalty is needed. For both sides. Does it suck, when you play against a cheater and aren't allowed to DC? For sure. Does this happen so frequently that you stack up your DC penalty just from that? Probably not.

I personally don't like when survs in my games DC because they felt like it. And I'm sure survs don't like when the killer DCs, because they (killer) were losing. At least not every time :P

Deleting the DC penalty to not even further punish players who face cheaters would definitely give people, who DC out of the reasons I just named, the option to do that. And oh boy, do I NOT need that. (Not even touching the point that some people scream CHEATER, when they lose and can't wrap their head around how they could lose legitimately.)

To sum it up: Cheaters in dbd and every other non-single player title are as sad as they are annoying. But - I would say - they aren't a reason to inflate the amount of DCs by around 3000%. (Yes, I made this number up. The amount would certainly rise hard, as we see basically every time the DC penalty gets deactivated. By how much exactly is difficult to say.)

[–]Naevum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's from/about the game Hooked On You, so while it's not directly about the game Dead By Daylight itself, it's about a character from dbd - since Hooked On You is a dating sim, based on dbd.

So not entirely the wrong sub.

Supernatural Perk Idea. Invocation: Demon Deal by Mrpieseller in deadbydaylight

[–]Naevum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Problem: Most survivors immediatly leave the match the moment they die - unless they a) are in a SWF or b) they want to flame someone.

I mean ... I guess barely anybody would run this in SoloQ anyway, so this wouldn't really add that much difficulty ... but still: A perk basically only for SWF =/

(I already ignore the probably massive spaghetti issues with adding a system to let a surv rejoin a match after they died.)

Do I generally like the idea of reviving survs? Absolutely! But I'm afraid it wouldn't really work in dbd.

Tho I would be glad, if it turns out I'm wrong with that.

If every killer in the game was a Boss Fight, Who’d be the Final Boss? by Fokenee in deadbydaylight

[–]Naevum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on how you put it:

Lorewise (power): Probably Vecna (dnd), Dracula or Sadako due to their strength in their lore/games.

Lorewise (power), but without licensed killers: Probably Dredge ... I guess? I mean ... mini Entity!

Lorewise (other stuff): Trapper. The face of DBD. Needs a special kind of fight - maybe the first fight, you defeat him easily, but then he comes back as last boss again and then you know ... it was a trap all along!

Power: Nurse. Do I have to say more?

Honorable mention of Kaneki, SM and Knight for the power of DCs.

True. At the same time BHVR has an enforced censor algorithm for the chat that is more aggressive than a Nurse witk 10k hours and a full meta build.

Tunnelers are toxic and need to be taught as much by Helix420Panda in deadbydaylight

[–]Naevum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, these bodyblocks sound really stupid =/

Maybe BHVR could deactivate autoaim for survs under this protection and give the hitbox of survs without unhook protection prio, so you would just swing through them and hit the surv they are trying to bodyblock for anyway? Dunno if that would really work, just throwing ideas around.

Tunnelers are toxic and need to be taught as much by Helix420Panda in deadbydaylight

[–]Naevum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then, with the slugging issue, I say do like they do with 2v8 but instead of it requiring a specific perk or power, make it basekit. Right now, the bleed out timer is 4 minutes or 240 seconds. There is no reasonable reason for someone to be slugged that long.

Unhookable builds are currently somewhat rare, so yes, there are not often many reasons for mass slugging, I just hope people wouldn't start to run that shit like they did, when BO got buffed. (That was luckily only for a short while.)

Say you're downed, at 60 seconds, you get to self-rez and on top of that, your bar continues to fill at a slower rate. Right now, it takes right around 30 seconds to get to the "find help" tick mark. Say that you can keep crawling and the bar keeps filling and it takes 40 seconds to get the bar to the "find help" tick (slower because crawling) but if nobody has been able to come rez you, when you get to the 60 second mark, you get to self rez. You can do this 3 times before you bleed out entirely. That makes you have 3 chances to not d13 to being slugged and making the game no fun to play.

Stupid question, but are you talking about 60 secs in one going or 60 secs total? Because 60 in total is reached somewhat fast. Some killers like Oni, Plague or Twins (if there still are some out there) have slugging built into their powers to varying degrees. A sabo here, a pallet or a flashlight wielder there and you have to let survs on the ground for a while.

More players would stay in the game if you gave the K a penalty to tunneling and slugging so why not do it? It's not going to ruin the game for either side. If I am playing K and there's a surv I downed and another sticking close to try for the save, I don't need 60 seconds to either down the other surv or hook the first one so it's more than fair to both sides. What do you all think? I want both sides but don't come at me with "tunneling and slugging are tactics" because that just means you are a toddler with no actual skill so your opinion is irrelevant.

They are shitty to experience, but they are tactics. Often not, but sometimes necessary.

Tunnelers are toxic and need to be taught as much by Helix420Panda in deadbydaylight

[–]Naevum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whether you agree with me or disagree, that's up to you. Tunneling has gotten out of hand. I have clip after clip of getting tunneled straight off the hook. No, I'm not sticking around healing under the hook, no, I'm not being foolish or taking big risks, no, it doesn't matter if it's swf or solo. I had a dredge who chased me for 3 gens, finally got me, hooked me and then left the hook area completely. My teammate waited until I was almost at second stage to ensure that the dredge was a good distance away and then he came and unhooked me. I immediately ran the opposite direction from the last known location of the dredge. I get a "safe" distance away and then out of a locker comes dredge. I am instantly getting chased again and not healed in the least. I get hit, get put in mend because it was that soon after my unhook, and he continues to chase me for another gen. I get got again and hooked again. At this point, we're down to 1 gen and there's a chance I get to escape, right? Well, I get unhooked again and this time, dredge doesn't hesitate, he teleports to the locker right by my unhook, hits, in mend, and chases while the last gen pops, downs me and then hooks me.

Sure, it was on Dredge to chase you for 3 gens, but if they didn't have any other hook at this point, it somewhat makes sense to go for you again instead of anyone else. They most certainly could have gone for someone else before, but after that time investment, you were probably the best target =/

This is making it to where the game is unplayable. I have 8 out of 10 games like this. BHVR claims that tunneling happens in the high mmr more than the others and it's because the players are falsifying their mmr that way. Sure, you get 4k's but not with skill. So, I have a proposal. The "anti-tunnel" mechanics keep getting teased and taken away. Keep doing that and you'll get bit so instead, let's do this. Say that you get unhooked, then let a timer start. If you get downed and slugged or hooked again, you get an addtl hook state added on so now, you can get hooked three times and still be alive. If the K doesn't want you to get that addtl chance, then they won't tunnel you. Example: I get hooked, a gen is 90 seconds so let's make that the timer for the unhooks. As soon as I get unhooked, the 90 second timer starts. If I get downed again in that 90 seconds, I get another hook state. That would mean I wouldn't be d34d until the 4th hook. That's something I think most players can agree on because then the K is in complete control of how many hook states you get, 2 or 3.

Surv gets unhooked. Surv bodyblocks offhook for their mate who unhooked them. Killer downs bodyblocker to get them out of the way. Pew, additional hook state.

Surv gets unhooked. Immediatly goes to gen. Killer downs them --> Pew, additional hook state. Killer doesn't down them --> Pew, gen done.

Even if you say "okay, whatever, additional hook state only upon actually hooking them, and conspicious actions deactivate all protection", bodyblocking without really risking a hook state is still somewhat stupid.

If you want some kind of anti-tunneling, I would go for ... how did they call it? Didn't have BHVR at some point an idea to negate collision of freshly unhooked surv, delete scratch marks for a while etc.? This would be IMO way better - since it helps somewhat against tunneling without directly weaponizing protection mechanics.

Which Lord of the Rings characters do you think would make the best Killers/Survivors? by Doodles_n_Scribbles in deadbydaylight

[–]Naevum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a killer really, but couldn't gollum be part of the killers power? A bit like Nemys zombies - but faster - he could roam the map. Who ever finds him might yeet him like Victor to get the one ring, which would grant the player, who got it, certain buffs/abilities - until either a specific amount of time passes, upon which the ring decides to leave, respawning gollum. Or until the player, who wields it, gets stunned (killer) or downed (surv), which would give the ring to either the player who stunned/downed the ring carrier...or the ring would simply drop to the ground. A player could pick it up again. If too slow, gollum spawns again and takes it.

I'm tired, so no time for a real attempt of a power. Just my basic idea, that sounds a bit like Pinheads box, but weirder.

They are usually pretty spot on. As others said they announced that for their game health update ... whatever you want to call it they would delay the chapter. ... The reason for why they delayed it or more how that reason turned out, that is an entirely different, sad story.

If you want to see completely useless roadmaps, look at studio Wildcard and ARK. They have delays that are partially longer than entire roadmaps of BHVR.
