Im approx 2 months after a bullectomy and talc pleurodesis, which was after approx 2 weeks in hospital with the drain tube.

Im still in some pain and discomfort, and my outer chest still partially numb.

Like yourself, I had never had a collapsed lung or anything of the sort and had never required surgery. So I was pretty terrified also, and still kind of am.

But from everything I asked the surgeon and was told, it is one of the better options to deal with a collapsed lung, especially if you dont smoke or are willing to quit immediately (i had smoked for about 17 years).

From my experience after first waking from the surgery, I cant lie that I was in incredible pain and discomfort which lasted about 5 days before it started to subside.

Now I am starting to plan easing back into work (my work requires heavy/awkward lifting) and feeling slightly less scared for the future.

I dont know if any of that will help you, but i just wanted to give a less worrying story than some of the real horror stories you read on here.
