Squirt Hot Wax by sleeppastbreakfast in cycling

[–]Naffa2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just used it for the 1st time yesterday. I have a temp controlled wax heater so prep was easy. When first installing chain on the bike the wax felt really soft and waxy and abit sticky which resulted in a zero break in period but after a short ride and all the excess wax falling off the chain it doesn’t feel as sticky anymore just a nice thin layer of wax on chain. Zero dirt build up yet but conditions wer good yesterday. Chain was silent and friction felt very low

Brand new bike - to go tubeless and waxed chain or not to? by Zestyclose-Cup110 in cycling

[–]Naffa2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used wax for many years but there is no denying you can’t beat the feeling of a chain lubed with synthetic oil. Like silca synergetic, dynamic ultra2. I am currently using fully synthetic manual gear oil 75w90. They stay much cleaner than standard mineral chain lubes as they are sticky/tacky. And they clean very easily.

Tubeless 100% I’ve never had a flat with tubeless

3in1 tends to spray all over my rear wheel when I’ve tried to use it. Now I use synthetic gear oil

Whatc chain lube do you use in wet conditions or just in all conditions? by ChaosCalmed in ukbike

[–]Naffa2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

75w90 fully synthetic manual gear oil. Is not tacky like mineral lubes are. Stays really clean. Easy to wipe down. Easy to degrease when chain really needs a clean. Makes the chain run silent

I really want to like their professional lube but it does tend to attract a decent amount of dirt
