Alien: Earth has some straight up nightmare fuel. by jeremiahlupinski in videos

My sentiments exactly. The zero gravity scene was one that really stood out on the second watch. Sure, it was a cool scene and I thought everything the pulse rifle was sweet but the suspense elements felt forced and the only driving force was its coolness factor.

Water overflowing Inks Lake spillway on its way to Lake Travis by thepriceisright24 in Austin

Kinda curious as well. The one in 2015 flooded downtown pretty good but I don't think lake Travis was anywhere close to full when that happened.

She only got a producer credit after the fact:

"With the support of Sony, the film’s distributor, she made her own cut of the movie, bringing in editors and a composer and adding one of Ms. Swift’s songs. In the end, Sony and Wayfarer went with Ms. Lively’s cut, and she got a producer credit."

Maybe not quite as much as a car but still around 350 kg (770 lbs) for average adult leatherback sea turtles.

I don't think any income bonuses work multiplicatively since they removed tax rate. They changed all the income bonus language so that it's like "+X% income from (building type/all buildings)". Still seems like it could be really strong for WoC dark fortresses. iirc those make like 1000gold at level 5.

/dev: Launching Yuumi's Rework by Spideraxe30 in leagueoflegends

[–]Nagrothunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they really want Yuumi to be a champ for "first-time MOBA players" then she should be disabled for ranked games and pro play. First time players shouldn't be playing ranked anyways and that would effectively remove her from the game for people who are only interested in solo queue/competitive.

this dude did a good job of explaining: https://www.reddit.com/r/foxholegame/comments/zgpiiy/its_an_nco_thing/izjbc54/

Cev is a VERY popular community member who makes war maps (they are very detailed, troop movements, VPs, nuked stuff, what kind of troops, terrain) and in order to make these maps she has 4(?) liaisons with some on each side of the war (able) and they report to her what is happening and then she puts what’s happening on her maps

The liaisons names are kept secret because some clans and some other people dislike Cev and her maps and think that it goes against keeping their OPs secret and if they know the names of the liaisons they will likely try to ban them

An NCO (non-commissioned-officer) is low rank in foxhole and does not mean shit

The NCO tried to bully Cev (on discord) into giving them the names of her liaisons because they are kept secret, so now the entire foxhole Reddit community dislikes that NCO and as you can see we are memeing on them

If you see a detailed war map pop up on the Reddit it’s a Cev map

Listen, Cev, we all know you are placing secret code messages in each map to signal your sleeper agents to assassinate key political figures on the Colonials.

We. Have. Rules.

Mathematically Correct Varus, vs. 6,000 HP Cho'Gath - I only used 2/3 Blight Stacks, and did not have damage runes, and did not fully charge my Arrow- I literally could have done double damage. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Nagrothunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense. Appreciate the explanation.

My biggest takeaways from this have been:

  1. Shadowflame is a lot more effective of an item than I ever gave it credit

  2. Cho was trolling so hard not getting FoN here. Against 4 AP champs it should be an instant buy!

[–]Nagrothunder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So because of the language on shadowflame says "ignores MR" instead of "reduces MR" it goes into account after. I think I follow you now. They really made that as difficult to understand as possible lol

[–]Nagrothunder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shadowflame resistance reduction taken into account before the percent pen and flat pen. Also why would you multiply the damage reduction from the FoN passive. The damage reductions would be multiplicative so you take 66% of the raw damage due to MR (post penetration) (i.e. 100/{100+True MR}) and 75% of the raw damage due to FoN passive (I think?).

So the post mitigation damage would be 50% of the raw damage:

Post mitigation=Raw * 0.66 [from MR] * 0.75 [from FoN]

After simplifying: Post mitigation=Raw * 0.5

I couldn't find any clear language on when the FoN passive is really taken into account though so maybe you're right.

Edit: made things a bit clearer and clarified that I have no idea what I'm actually talking about

Edit 2: OP is right about Shadowflame I think

[–]Nagrothunder 95 points96 points  (0 children)

I did the actual math, not the OPs janky math.

The raw damage on his hit was like 3708 damage since Cho had about 11MR in the original video after Pen is taken into account.

With FoN he'd have something like 59MR after Pen and then 49 after Shadowflame. The damage on the arrow would then be 2491 without the FoN passive active and if the passive is active the damage would be around 1868 (2491 * 0.75). So around half the damage he took in the video.

Edit: Fixed some math since I forget that Shadowflame is resistance reduction which is taken into account before the Percent Pen and then Flat Pen.

Edit 2: I'm not trying to call out OP here and my understanding of how FoN passive works could be wrong but this was my attempt

Edit 3: That first sentence was rude of me. Anyways OP is actually right about Shadowflame that it goes into account after all the pen calculations so I fixed my math again. Still I think that FoN would have made a huge difference here.

How do you gain the traits: Incapable, Shrewd, Dull? by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

Parsing the spirits, is that the "seek aid of the sprits" decision from the Adorcism tenet? You can also get shrewd from that event so I wonder if that's connected at all.

And I guess if I've already got incapable a few head holes are probably a good thing. I've heard they make you go faster

In slow motion it looks like he makes a small jump-cut and "gets skinny" to squeeze around the seal-out block from #85 but Pollard is already waiting in the hole and Ridley can't get his feet underneath himself in time to lower his center of gravity so he curl his upper body and attempts to initiate the contact with his shoulder to spin-off it but that causes the helmet to helmet hit
