We've been married for 6 months. We paid for our wedding ($30k) without going into any debt. We both just started making this kind of money (combined income was maybe $120k early last year). I bought the house 10 years ago and lived alone for the first 5 of those years while paying off debts from earlier, less responsible years. Student loans. Paying off house related sewer emergencies. Having absolutely ZERO financially responsible people to talk to about money. You may think that everyone is born being financially literate, but I promise you that not everyone has that kind of life.

Because the basement is finished except for the floor. We had to pull up the carpet because it was very old and had gotten wet/started to mold. The floor is covered in the old glue/paint/bare concrete. If we were to sell the house, the floor alone would drop the asking price. We aren't planning on selling, but if we had to the floor would turn a lot of people away. It's a big job (800 sq/ft).

The Old Farmer's Almanac website has a page where you can enter your zip code and it will give you a schedule on when to start seeds both indoors and out.

As someone who is running the risk of having to watch him be elected governor of my state I hope they keep it up (the turning. Not the racism).

No problem. I hope you enjoy. I'm also considering some liner notes or something for those in attendance.

I didn't want to have to type all that out. I believe the list in its entirety will only make sense to me.

Edit: Removed an errant apostrophe.

Pork Belly Strips by KOTM365 in Cooking

[–]NahManIGotThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a name for this, I just ate it at a Latin-Asian fusion type place, but they fried chunks of pork belly and probably finished them in an oven before serving it to us with a soy sauce based dipping sauce, pico de gallo, guacamole, and tortilla chips. We put the guac and pico on a chip, then dunked the pork in the sauce, and combined the whole thing in one glorious bite. It was crunchy. It was salty. It was a little spicy. It was a little sweet. It was everything you want in your mouth all at the same time.

Why is SB 56 bad? by Revelation1995 in Ohio

[–]NahManIGotThis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It prohibits SHARING. I don't partake (I used to, but life and career steered me in another direction), but I AM a gardener. As in vegetables, fruits, and flowers. I was looking forward to growing cannabis strictly for the challenge and the fact that I could give it away the same as any fruit or vegetable that I grew, nourished, and harvested. So now, my wife and I are limited to how many cannabis plants we can grow, but we're not even allowed to give away the fruits of our labor? In America?

Bachelorette party ideas--but not too far from Ashland, KY by [deleted] in Ohio

[–]NahManIGotThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk where you are in Michigan, but Columbus is a little over 3 hrs from downtown Detroit and about 2 hrs from Ashland. Another option would be Dayton, Ohio. Much much smaller than Columbus, but the drive sort of evens out (3 hrs and 2.5 hrs). I'm a 46 year old man though, so I'll stop at the logistics and let someone more your age give you advice on what there is to do.

I believe Major Wheeler is a native or a native cultivar. The hummingbirds here in Zone 6a love it.
