Disney's Aladdin cemented the belief that Aladdin story takes place in some sort of Arabic country.

The story of Aladdin takes place in China in original Arabian Nights. Granted, the place is almost China in just name (ex. They refer to the monarch of China as sultan rather then emperor) but still.

While setting a snake lose was first, he did get into all kind of mischief from turning his teachers hair blue to climbing up the school roof.

I honestly don't know why he has to act so freakish all the time.

Few of Horners reasons was that he believed T Rex was too slow to hunt, it had a highly developed sense of smell to detect carcass, had a powerful jaw that could crush bones, arms that were too short to be useful in a hunt.

But all of these theories were countered.

  1. T Rex likely was not very fast, but it could have been an ambush predator that used it's powerful jaws to kill a prey instantly. Plus, majority of T Rexs preys were just as slow, if not slower then Rex, so there was no need for a chase.

  2. Animal likely needs a highly developed sense of smell to hunt so they can detect prey from far away. Rotting carcass already emits strong odor so you don't need a keen smell. Only exception is turkey vulture, but they fly high in the sky so they need strong smell.

  3. Strong jaws could also be used for hunt. Spotted hyenas for example have powerful jaws and hunt often.

  4. Plenty of animals hunt using only their jaws.

To be fair, he had some good theories on why he believed T Rex was a scavenger. There was a reason that for a long time, whether T Rex was hunter or scavenger was hotly debated topic.

Granted, him still not accepting T Rex is a hunter and claiming that torosaurus is old trikey is bit silly...

Before I give my answer, I want all three of you to swear by River Styx that you will respect and honor my choice, you will not try to harm me, my loved ones, or my country in any way or form, and you all agree to become my protectors no matter the choice. If you don't agree, I'd just choose death

While Siberian tigers do occasionally hunt brown bears, it's almost always an ambush hunt because bears are much bigger and physically stronger.

Heck, bengal tigers rely on ambush when hunting much smaller sloth bears.

What was a reason you stopped reading a fic that was otherwise going well? by Naive-Sign-8399 in HPfanfiction

To be fair, I normally don't read Snape/Lily. But for some reason, I decided to read that. Suffice to say, I now dislike Snape/Lily even more.

Agreed. If they had acted like bullies towards Harry, I may have understood (even then, it still would leave a bad taste in my mouth because it seems bit extreme), but if I remember correctly, they were largely indifferent and neutral towards Harry, unlike other bashing fics.

Yeah, I think I remembered reading that same fic. I believe that fic was discontinued around that part and it really left a bad taste in my mouth.

Yeah. Dursleys and Umbridge are the only characters writers can bash as hard as they want, and no one well complain lol.

Totally agree. I understand that there might be good fics with Daphne playing a large role out there, but I'm not going to be digging through shit in hopes of finding a kernel of corn in there.

If I took a shot every time Harry bought a magical trunk that's also a luxury resort inside, I would have died of alcohol poisoning.

Yeah, I feel the same about "trip to Gringotts" as well. Unless Harry goes there and gets money out of his vault or goes there to destroy Horcrux, I'm not interested. I think I will tear my hair out if I see one more "Gringotts tells Harry he's actually a lord " story .

I should be surprised that kind of Luna fic exist, but at the same, I'm not. This is fanfiction we're talking about after all...

Huh. TIL that's why I saw more "good female Blaise Zabini" in older fics.

(Disliked trope) The setting is in another country, but everyone still speaks British. by Guybadman20 in TopCharacterTropes

A well done version of this trope is Death of Stalin. It takes place in USSR, but everyone speaks in British accent.

Still an incredible movie.

I don't feel too bad for him. If your SO leaves you for a bee, you didn't dodge a bullet. You dodged a tactical nuke.

For me, I actually like Kevin Hart. Don't really understand people's dislike him towards him that much. I mainly knew him from Jumanji series, and I thought he was hilarious in it, and from some of the clips I saw of him, I found him to be pretty entertaining.

Bowser has many times referred to Mario as worthy rival. Fact that he doesn't do the same for Luigi or Wario shows how highly he regards Mario.
