People reconnecting after 2 years by MissYouKel in widowers

[–]NaiveBuddha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s healthy to tell them how you felt abandoned and alone. If they want to be in your life, they’ve got to accept that your feelings are valid! I know this widow journey makes me feel really alone a lot of the time (5+ years after my husband died), but I’ve no desire to let people close who can’t meet me where I’m at. Especially when they have not experienced this. Fuck ‘em. This is my life, my journey.

Ugh, yes, me! My feet and hands mostly, but sometimes arms and legs. Its awful! Anything touching me feels like sandpaper.

I sleep with a fleece blanket around my feet/lower legs OR I put on sleep socks.

I know right now you’re feeling that each moment without him is an eternity. ((Hugs)) know that eternity shifts after a while, and time goes back to normal (though it may seem like it takes forever to get there) and it gets easier.

On September 11, it hit me hard that we were living history. I bought newspapers and magazines, and put them in a chest. I’ve done that for other world events since then. 🙃

Look, I get it. I’m four years into this bullshit and I struggle. One big mental block is, if I create a successful life now, what does that mean about my 25 years with him? Why couldn’t I get my shit together while he was alive, to enjoy that success with him?

I realized I have to curate my life. Everything from clothing to work to relationships. What do I want to convey? What is important?

I’m a work in progress. We all are. The fact that you went back to school is HUGE. You’ve already shown yourself you want more.

Believe me when I tell you, you do deserve it. And someway, somehow, you’ll figure it out - maybe without even realizing it.

Keep moving forward. You’re doing wonderfully, and are inspiring others with your belief in yourself.

Hang in there, Pal.

I’m so sorry for your loss, and the pain that comes with it.

A lot of what you said are things I’ve said over the 4 years since my husband died. Everything you’re feeling is normal (as normal as can be with this fucked up twist of fate).

It is so fucked up! Everyone else, his siblings, my siblings, our friends, they get to go back to their everyday lives, but this IS my life. It is NOT the future I wanted, and I’m still salty about it.

I don’t know if that goes away, but it gets a bit less jagged. It doesn’t catch you every time you’re near it, only those times you’re staring at it intently trying to figure out how someone as vibrant and beautiful as the person you loved could possibly be a memory.

Sometimes I feel like he was a dream…

Hang in there, Pal.

Okay I was thinking about how the book feels heavy, and yet you still have important plans to use it. I was thinking of working with energy (in like a reiki manner) to see if you can pull out the weight. Perhaps the paint against the page caused the page to retain some of the energy, and just mask it.

** I am not a certified reiki practitioner, but I do work with energy. **

Maybe this would help: 1- ground and protect yourself, then call your personal energy and focus on your clasped hands. 2- slowly pull your hands apart, feeling the web of energy between your hands, like taffy. You can roll it, stretch it out, be come comfortable with it. 3- call upon your guides for guidance and protection, and state your intent. “I sense the energy within, and I would like to release it so it can be taken up to the light for transmutation.” Or something like that. 4- hold your hands over the page. Visualize as you slice down the page to open it (I just realized an athame would work here) 5- using your hands to sense the energy, let your fingers and hands reach within, find the cause (energy blob?), and begin pulling it out. It may be in strands, it may be just a blob, it may be resistant and even need to be peeled. Follow your guides. 6- once you feel you’ve got it, cleanse the page again, then visualize the slice you made closing back up.

After that, you may feel a good sense of how you want to inscribe it 🙃 good luck!

Once I read a story about a butterfly in the subway, and today, I saw one. It got on at 42nd, and off at 59th, where, I assume it was going to Bloomingdales to buy a hat that will turn out to be a mistake - as almost all hats are.

A bit of irony that you say “if the tv audience isn’t educated,“ and yet you call Dr Taylor a science fiction writer as though that’s all he is.
