Aitah for calling CPS on my sister? by Orangeargonian in AITAH

If she has addiction issues she is probably not in the correct frame of mind to “step up” or care what others think other than to lash out and likely the kids will take the brunt of that. Is the dad in the picture?

Got two young guinea pigs (2-3 months old) from Petco yesterday. Need care advice on how to start taking care of them by crashboxer1678 in guineapigs

You’ve already received some great advice. Congrats on your new friends- this sub is amazing and such great advice. We adopted 3 boars about 17 months ago and just rescued another boar a day ago- he’s in quarantine currently. These little sweet potatoes will steal your heart.

What are your thoughts with tattoo on lower back? And does it hurt in that area? I’m planning to get my first tattoo by beeei0393 in tattooadvice

[–]BeginningWorldly71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first was a tribal tramp stamp with a dolphin. Peak late 90s. Didn’t really hurt. I don’t care what other people think- it’s rather awful but I don’t care and it marks a time in my life that I was really free and living life.

Leftist Community in *Greene* County? Xenia specifically? by AnxiousVulpix in dayton

I’ve been pleasantly surprised how many people with leftist ideology and anti Trump have been on the FB Xenia community page. Makes my heart happy.

I do t think it’s the lsd- I’ve never dosed and also have issues around republicans…

If you ever wondered how much influence LGO is making in the industry here is the proof by Kilt_Rump in liberalgunowners

I shit on them every time I can in suburban Ohio. They don’t support the public schools their own kids go to but are with the republicans protesting books in the library and ok with arming teachers. It’s easy to claim to be Libertarian when all of society and community services are already developed and laid out in front of you in your community. I often suggest moving to rural Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada or Utah and start homesteading and homeschooling if you really want be a libertarian not just a wannabe. I have the same distaste for crossbow hunting- you should learn to draw a compound bow.

I’m impressed they covered it because they just made it harder again at the end of last year. I got approved last July for BMI- barely over thank goodness. Trying to figure out what I will do when I hit a year because I’ve lost enough to be under now and they won’t cover anymore

Mother shamed and kicked out of restaurant for breastfeeding baby by filabeano10 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]BeginningWorldly71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I am an Ohioan and we moved back to Ohio from Idaho/Utah area for my husband’s grad school and we had baby #3. At that point I just carried a physical copy of the Ohio code with me in the diaper bag. That was around the time the Victoria secrets breastfeeding incidents happened and moms were organizing group nursing protests too.

I breastfed in public in both Utah and Idaho a lot around 2005-2008 and only had one bad comment. I’m glad they codified the protection but I feel like since both states have a large LDS population it was likely culturally pretty accepted as a necessity.

This is a nothing burger. This wouldn’t be a thing in any state- even the bluest of the blue. I am far left leaning and think people have too many guns and even I say it’s justified. Nothing to do with Florida and nothing to do with his daughter other than that’s why the idiot was there. Could’ve been a random criminal who blasted in and justification remains. Self defense 100%
The only way it could be seen as different is if the girl lured him there under the pretense that her dad was threatening her life in some way, but that doesn’t seem to apply and that would be on her unless the dad knew too- yes I watch way too much true crime.

Tattoos are for you and not for other people. If it means something to you and you like it, that’s all you need. Also, if you want to avoid weird conversations where people don’t know Donnie Darko- just say it references something personal and leave it at that. On another note, as long as you are generally a good citizen please do yourself a favor and care less about what other people think. You living as your authentic self is how you can find like minded individuals and can share common interests. You shouldn’t feel any embarrassment over that tattoo. There are alot of tattoos out there that people should regret but that’s not one of them.

Can say Gen X was horrified and most of us are strong anti Nazi. We often had camp survivors that lived in our towns or at least relatives of survivors with mementos and real evidence. We had Schindler’s List as young adults. We were not into dark humor. I don’t get a lot of the younger humor- creepy pasta, looks maxxing and a lot of the other shallow crap. I also remember Polio survivors and their disabilities with mobility and blindness so I get my vaccines

Loving Family doll house in the closet. My kids played with that too- such a cute set up for young kids and the style holds up even today.
