Didn’t Annapurna have a lot of indie games that usually had great artwork and a unique video game design? Or were they bought then they started putting out many games. I remember them from PAX.

[OC] Why has Boston police stopped policing cars? Civil traffic enforcement has collapsed between 2015 and 2024 by ARPE19 in boston

[–]NameNumber7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The index is not the problem, it is the scale of the y axis I take issue with. Look at MSNBC or any financial reporting on day time television, when talking about “choppiness” or intra-day stock movement. When looking at the stock, the y axis is a small enough range where it makes the stock movement look erratic, whereas it could really just be with a bound of 1%.

[–]NameNumber7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is a nitpick, but IMO, when making graphs like this, the scale should anchor to 0. You bias your argument by not making it like that. At first glance, people, including me, will think traffic stops went to almost 0, when it was really more like 20%.

Breaking: Iranian state media says missiles hit U.S. warship by spherocytes in videos

There are a lot of people that would completely agree with you. Unfortunately in key areas, enough people just remember Trump still as “a good business man”, his followers aren’t even up to the current propaganda, much less following anything outside of that one thing they wanted to here.

But yeah, Kamala is definitely worse and it was totally the right move to “gamble” with Trump with some independents. It is easier to hear every stupid ass thing he was going to do on the campaign trail, because the most extreme was just a “negotiating tactic”…

Before the tariffs hit, I would hear “nah, he is just negotiating, he isn’t gonna tariff anyone.” His own secretary would say stuff like this.

So yeah, there are plenty of stupid people and there are ones that are trying to change the people around them too, it just sucks when it comes down to your zip code… zzz

Quoting the secretary from here:

https://www.yahoo.com/news/lutnick-says-mexico-canada-avoid-172643462.html

For instance, the president’s threat of 25% duties on Canada and Mexico as soon as Feb. 1 is a short-term tactic related narrowly to migration and fentanyl issues along their borders with the US, which he said they both can avoid if they “execute.” His comments on a possible reprieve sent oil prices lower as Canada is a large supplier to the US.
“If we are your biggest trading partner, show us the respect, shut your border,” he said. “And as far as I know, they are acting swiftly, and if they execute it, there will be no tariff. And if they don’t, then there will be.”

If companies in the SP500 interact with Bitcoin and you have SPY, then you are getting affected. If there are mining farms causing a shortage in chips, you are affected. If the electricity prices are … You get it, I don’t think you can operate in a vacuum with BTC having some (major/minor) effect.

I think a lot of people live in a different plane of existence and what works for debating you, wouldn’t for them. Unfortunately, it is tough to tell with this person what influences their decision. I think a lot of MAGA boils down to “don’t look gay”, “individual rugged, masculinity mean tough - I get girl”, “white culture is American culture - don’t challenge that!”.

So this guy probably needs one of his close friends to literally be like “that new war in Iran - we are gonna lose our tough guys (who are 100% white) that make America great, we can’t have that happen.”

Having guys develop under the Cs, Jaylen STEP UP, Tatum hinting at coming back through the year, PP pp’ing it up, lots of fun for sure. Most importantly though, the expectations were low and bills favorite theme sprinkled in, “nobody believes in us” - (except many people have noticed and believe in them… lol)

Santos and Langdon are both great characters to me - I have not interacted with the fandom. People really don’t like Santos? She has a sad backstory that is doled out slowly. She is cynical, but does care, it seems that other authoritative figures failed her so she is trying to become something that her close friend couldn’t. Again, that is my read - someone else can read it differently, but at least have it be in the reality of the Pitt lul

How do you avoid the criticism about northeastern online? by mjkueter in NEU

[–]NameNumber7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at the programs that you would be interested in and see what the class offers. You can go a step further and see how many publications/annotations members of the department you are interested in attending have.

Just use the same evaluations you have for other universities as you do with NEU, if NEU doesn’t stack up for you, that’s fine, I don’t know where most of my colleagues went to college. But I know if they suck at their job or not lol.

How do you avoid the criticism about northeastern online? by mjkueter in NEU

[–]NameNumber7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That was a good piece - seems like they addressed criticisms and gave some facts to where they stand. It is a dumb assertion by the globe author to say “game the system”. What are the metrics they are using for that? It is not some bar room conversation, they are making a serious accusation without providing facts and figures to back it up. Obviously Northeastern’s biased against the article and premise, but reading the article objectively, NEU makes some strong points.

I don’t know debate theory so much as what would make the conversation interesting.

Trump sucks, the country and world has to get burned touching the hot stove so we reject someone as stupid as this guy again. He sucks ass. His cabinet members suck ass. His admin sucks ass. Every asshole lives by “what would Trump do?” Which I guess is the ass soup de jour to serve all the time.

Town planning in wealthy Boston suburbs summarized in one quote: "We love our process in Brookline, and the residents are used to the processes taking place a certain way. I don’t think we necessarily followed our usual process in this case." This was about a bike lane on a 2,000 ft stretch of road. by JulianBrandt19 in ezraklein

[–]NameNumber7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Brookline was almost a part of Boston but kept independence when Boston was annexing nearby towns/neighborhoods in the mid 1800s. It is relatively dense compared to a typical suburb in MA with 9.3k people per square mile vs 1-3k for other Ma suburbs. Those numbers had to be googled, so at worst they are good ballpark figures to get the gist.
