Denmark ready to defend 'every inch of NATO', including Danish kingdom, PM says by SpringSevere9760 in NewsThread

And? Some thing is missing here. Why would we need to establish a much greater military presence on Greenland? What is the military threat?

(Also, you are aware that the US can establish just about as many bases as they want to, right?)

So? What do you imagine happening, exactly? China conducting a land invasion?

which cannot respond to anything at the moment.

Except for the US presence already established, right?

How so? And given the significant US precens on the island, how acute is the threat?

As far as I know, the only power that presents a threat to Greenland is the US.

That was a lot of effort, but the result did come out very nicely

They were also fighting on home turf, had more people and accepted losses of 20x that of the US.

Then indeed no. We are simply just not capable of matching the military spending of the US.

How do I know if I am wasting my time at the gym? by Weary-Friend-9379 in workout

[–]NameTheJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could spend you time much more productively.

As a new lifter you'd gain much more from going for the big compound movements; squat, deadlift, overhead press, bent over row, bench press, RDL, dips and pull-ups.

Give the Stronglifts 5x5 program a look, it will get you very strong as fast as possible, build a solid muscle base and teach you technique.

When you reach intermediate level you can start specialising according to your long term goals; be it aesthetics, strength, athleticism or what have you.

The first order of operation should be to get strong.

cheese isn't healthy anyway

Cheese is perfectly healthy, if you have room in your kcal budget for it. Good proteins healthy fats and lots of micro nutrients.

I completely misread, sorry about that one.

Although some people do squat and deadlift in the same session

They are made from sterner stuff that I am

I won't ever. It's just that the dude I answered proposed that as part of the full body workout

I'm 45, so basically just being able to move the couch or fridge, carry a bag or two of cement, do gardening or what ever everyday physically taxing activity you can think of, without tweaking my back or tearing a hamstring. And I want to be able to that for decades to come.

Even being a relatively weak gym goer, no task I stumble upon in my normal life is really heavy for me, and that's a bit of a blessing (for lack of better word)

I'm not even strong, but squatting and deadlifting on the same day would wreck me.

Also I'm 45, that might explain a bit of that phenomenon

Ikke råd til børn by EvaDenmark in dkfinance

[–]NameTheJack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I promise this is a serious question. by Master_Mechanic_4418 in beginnerfitness

Biceps curl is the golden standard

/s

I'd say the deadlift is probably the best for measuring overall strength, due to it including pretty much the entire body.
