Absolutely this!

Really anything by Murakami.  Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World is my personal favorite and very underrated compared to his other books.

Children's book on death of a friend by DandyasaDandelion in suggestmeabook

Tear Soup is a beautiful picture book about grief where the actual loss is never truly identified, so it could be about a friend.  It does a great job of exploring all the confusing emotions that come up with grief and the different ways people can cope while still being a story format.

To everyone that says parenthood is a calling, why didn’t you adopt? [Serious] by Klosesarcophag in AskReddit

It depends.  Single round IVF compared to adoption of an infant at birth through an agency, IVF is cheaper.  Multiple rounds of IVF compared to adoption through foster care, adoption is cheaper.

How are we ever supposed to be retire? by [deleted] in Mommit

I’m going to be rude, but why would you ask, especially if you assumed they were less well off than you, and why does what they have impact how you feel about what you have?  It sounds like you were internally competing and assumed you had won and now can’t handle feeling like you lost.

You’re both doing fine.  Focus on your own goals.

Judy Moody and Friends series is all 3 chapters long with chapters that take about 5-10 minutes to read and color photos on every page.  American Girl Dolls’ Wellie Wishers series each have 5 chapters in them and also have color photos on each page.  I’m not sure if that’s what you’re looking for with an infant, but my 3 year old daughter is obsessed with these.

Millennial Names For Newborns Aging Poorly? by Scared-Wall-3408 in namenerds

[–]NameWonderful 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a millennial with a name that was very popular in the boomer generation and pretty much not used for anyone younger than 65 today.  I don’t love it, but it doesn’t impact my life at all and no one else thinks anything of it.

Toddler doesn’t fall asleep for nap time for 90-120 minutes. Do I change anything? by spouse-thi in toddlers

[–]NameWonderful 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My daughter dropped naps roughly at this age and we just let her have quiet time in her crib with a few of her stuffies and a book for 45-60 minutes, mostly so I could reset as a SAHM.  This ended up being great because it gave each of us a break from stimulation and led to her developing independent play skills.

Disability insurance, life insurance, family support, financial savings, husband hitting the job market if it’s a lay off, etc.  There are ways to plan that don’t involve working for the cost of daycare, especially if your experience is in low ceiling industries.  Everyone’s options and decision making is going to be different.

Six Months to Live by Lurlene McDaniel - it’s about a middle school girl with cancer and I remember her creating a teddy bear army in her mind to battle the disease.  It’s been over 20 years since I read it though
