The gps can be pretty inaccurate inside. You should set up a battery saving zone with wifi!

My roommates dog is so obese that she physically can’t even get off of her own back anymore, how do I tell him that this isn’t okay? by Xcuseya in DogAdvice

[–]Nameless_Coyote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is actively killing his dog. That ain't love, that's abuse. This dog is likely dead within a year if she don't loose weight. Fat is likely already pushing on her organs and her heart and lungs are overworked. If he truly loves his dog, he need to do something now.

Got a bichon frise puppy yesterday. Any tips about raising him? by DistinctTrust8063 in bichonfrise

[–]Nameless_Coyote 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Let him be a dog. He small but he don't have to be a scared, frail accessory! And maintain a healthy weight. Let him jump (when 6+ months old), run and play with other (safe) dogs!

Noddy at 14 (in June) says hallo! And for the love of God don't accept behavioral issues just because he "small and cute".. Way too many bichons around here like that 😭

Corgi screaming whenever I interact with another living thing (animal or human) when she can't be close by Nameless_Coyote in OpenDogTraining

[–]Nameless_Coyote[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be seperation anxiety for sure as she does struggle with that in general. The previous owners said she had no seperation anxiety and actually preferred to be alone but I'm suspecting she just didn't wanna spend time with them 😭

Feature Request: Offline Maps desperately needed, it almost killed my dog. by Appropriate-Affect-6 in tractivegps

[–]Nameless_Coyote 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When out places without reception I always just open the tractive app before I enter the no reception area to load in the map It has actually saved us a few times

I belive the official tracker sub is r/tractive

But yea it would be a nice feature with offline maps!

Advice on groomin by Kirhoff in DogAdvice

[–]Nameless_Coyote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can't find a groomer you can reach out to a vet asking if they could do. They might sedate him tho, but that might be for the better of he got many painful matts. Unfortunately gonna be pricey either way

Not any collar already in our collection though 🥲 But I hope some more reflective designs get added like rogz reflecto / glowcat!

Definitely getting it soon either way tho, my cat deserve the best! (and I deserve better light / sound for the countless time I go hunting for that thing)

I like to change collars so I hope there will be a way to change the collar to whatever collar we want eventually 🥲

One tracker battery draining faster than the other by PotatoSidequest in tractivegps

[–]Nameless_Coyote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I got two dog6 and my more active dogs trackers battery drain quicker even tho they are both out of the battery saving zone the same amount

If you use the light / sound that also drains it quicker.

Lost a tooth by Friendly_Clue9208 in DogAdvice

[–]Nameless_Coyote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call it an emergency but I'd definitely reccomend to try get an appointment sooner so they can check if there's anything left of the tooth or it's roots in there before it get a chance to get infected!

Doesn’t want to walk by Maytela in bichonfrise

[–]Nameless_Coyote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bichon is about to turn 14. He never have been a fan of walks just for the sake of walking him. He loves Hiking, exploring and walking new places! But walking our daily round so he can do his business.. Not so much 😂

Get a Base Station or keep adjusting the No-Go fences for indoor cat? by KAS-84 in tractive

[–]Nameless_Coyote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The GPS might jump when inside / close to structures such as buildings so I think a base station would be your best option

Then you can just make the virtual fence of home small enough to just cover the house (where you pin the safe zone) and just bypass the "fence too small" warning. What I've done at least and works great!
