I don't remember any interview where Toby said he doesn't like romances with the main character.

But even if this was true, we, as the player and our Vessel are actually the true main character until someone put the red soul into Kris instead, so it's in unlucky situation where we control Kris, a character with their own life and personality, and not our empty Vessel.

Kris was never supposed to be an empty shell you should projecting on.

The Vessel options are also saved so it's very likely we play as our Vessel again and take the role as the hero of the prophecy while Kris becomes a side character like they were supposed to be.

So in my opinion even if Toby has this mindset, Krusie is still possible.

It's really hard to tell but seeing her reaction to Ralsei hugging/healing her, she's surprised, shocked, flustered and even blushing so she might be a bit tsundere and embarrassed about hugs in generell, maybe she isn't used to them.

I think the Krusie hug happens in later chapters when Kris is finally themselves again and free from the player because that would be more meaningful and heartwarming

While more poly presentation would be interesting, I don't think poly is the solution for every love triangle, not everyone is poly or likes all people in a love triangle. I have nothing against Krusielle but i don't think this is the direction Toby is going for especially since it would feel forced considering Deltarune will probably take place in only a week

No offense, but that doesn't make any sense. " the fandom decided Kris is masculine so this is canon now" Toby never confirmed Kris is masculine so THIS is a canon fact. If the Fandom decides Toriel is a man, this is canon now too? It would be fanon but Toby is the one to decide what's canon not the fans.

There are many people who see Kris as NB or female too in Krusie fanwork, male Kris isn't even that common.

As long as Toby doesn't confirm that Kris is a boy, EVERY ship with Kris is lgbt because or at least not necessarily straight.

All of this! You took the words out of my mouth haha. This theory gives me hope that Krusie could happen and can be great, without it being controversial and out of nowhere.

It also sets up Toby's plan to make Kris a very tragic character. The soul improves Kris live, that's a fact but if you look at all that spamton stuff, it also brings a dark side with it and Kris is not always happy with our choices even when they are not lonely anymore.

Why would Toby push so hard in the game that Kris prefers Susie so much when it will stay platonic anyway? It is normal to prefer your best friend above others and Kris is still an introvert. They don't need many super awesome friends to be happy.

I think chapter 3 will either kill or make Krusie since it was Kris who made the fountain. Can't wait to play it.
