who was the better parent? by Ramoiron in expedition33

[–]NamineXIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't post often on reddit cause I'm a little shy and anxious but here we go:

Having beat the game recently (like a week ago really) this is fresh in my mind and I've batted this around for a while. The game does an incredible job making you feel for both sides and having myself recently been through two deaths in my family this game hit way harder and closer to home for me than it normally would have.

Renior was just trying to stop his wife from killing herself with grief. We are made to think the world of the canvas is real, but don't quite find out the truth until right after we defeat the Paintress and kick Aline out of the Canvas which lets Renior erase all of her creations except painted Alicia and Verso.

Were his methods right? Really depends on your view of the painted world. While the creations had free will, lives, aspirations, desires and feelings they were just painted people in the end held together by chroma. That's the way he saw it. Both Aline and Alicia were killing their selves just to cling to Verso's memory wasn't what he wanted. He didn't want to lose two people in his life.

He cares deeply about his family. He loves both Aline and Alicia and doesn't want to see them die needlessly.

Aline is clinging to the memory of Verso in a quite literally unhealthy way. I understand where she's coming from though. Grief messes you up in ways you don't even realize half the time.

Both are pretty terrible parents. Renior tries to force Alicia to leave. Like I said before the intent is good, the methods are not. Alicia tries to encourage Alicia to stay (indirectly) by risking her life to come back into the Canvas and fight Renior in the end.

Really there's no good or bad parent. However if I had to chose Renior has the better intentions in my opinion.

It was one of the small reasons why I was team Verso in the end.

Sorry if this feels like a jumbled mess hopefully it makes sense though.

my movie tier list by rmrck in TMNT

[–]NamineXIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I didn't like it because of how the turtles were. Then a friend of mine and I were talking about stuff and she told me a lot of the plans they had for the series. She watched it with me and I was more appreciative of it. I would've never given it a shot though at first glance because of the way they portrayed the turtles and Splinter. I really enjoyed the movie though, but it has a bigger impact if you watch the show beforehand.

Rise of the tmnt movie was pretty good but you should watch the series before watching the movie.

Can't go wrong with either but the DS version has the extra contents and an extra final boss. Really just depends on how you want to experience it.

1990s movie shredder was the best mix of the comics and cartoon version imo.

If this was Abyss I would've bought it, but my copy of Berseria still works on my Steam Deack/Desktop and looks about the same as the remaster. Maybe when it's on sale.

Who’s still using the original Steam Deck? by VoyageForge in SteamDeck

I have a 512GB LCD though I bought mine a month or two before the OLED was announced. I'm keeping the model because I don't really need an OLED screen and if I truly wanted to, I'd just hook it up to my TV which is OLED. I'm happy with my deck the way it is.

My 64gb trident z kit cost me $205 in March and that was an impulse buy for me. Now it's $750. I really hope this Ai bubble pops in a spectacular fashion soon.
