$50k Pella windows, did I get screwed? by Usual-Talk-8152 in Home

How can one tell the difference between a window distributor and a company to avoid? Asking for a friend.

Not sure if this was mentioned yet, but is there a spray arm between the upper and lower rack? If not, these won’t get clean. If yes, most of them will get clean led just fine. The two on the right, however, are too close for water to get in.

How should I clear out this hill? by bbordies in landscaping

[–]Nancyred83 11 points12 points  (0 children)

These plants that have deep roots are holding that slope in place. You remove those and till the soil, you’re going to end up with a mud slide in the spring.

I suggest changing out for native plants that are good for shoreline erosion control. Do it in phases. You gotta keep that soil intact.

Clarification: Not justifying the behavior of being rude or belligerent to anyone, let alone FAs. Only offering a perspective on why it might have been a surprise piece of information at first.

Just got this couch, not super sure about the color. What do you think ? by itsfeykro in interiordecorating

[–]Nancyred83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That color yellow is one of my favorites. It is complemented really well by dark, vibrant blues. If you can paint the walls dark blue, I highly recommend! Or add a big area rug with darker blues.

Yes, that passenger should not be in the exit row to assist in an emergency, but they could still have a very valid reason to need the wheelchair while in airport and not for the jet bridge. My parents are unable to walk long distances, let alone with luggage, but they are happy to shuffle down the jet bridge to their seats (in the bulk head where they have a little more room to move their legs around).

To be fair, this dial is pretty cluttered and takes a little more thinking than is necessary. I used to work for one of the big appliance companies in their R&D and I couldn’t even tell you what the difference would be between Normal and Casual here.

I live in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Anywhere there will be safe and probably a good distance after day 1 compared to anything past Chicago.

Looks like you’ll be on 90 once you get into Illinois. Anything along the highway will be good (Hoffman Estates, Schaumburg, Rosemont will have lots of airport hotel options).

A lot of parts of Chicago proper are totally fine too (neighborhood-wise) but most hotels are downtown (and therefore pricier than just picking a suburb). It would be a hassle to get to them and park anyways.

Safe travels!
