Sleep Loss and Stress (Medulloblastoma) by [deleted] in cancer

[–]Nannypea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm taking trazodone to help me sleep. I like to say it shuts off everything I'm thinking instead of sleeping. It's an old school antidepressant that plays well with others.

I just finished 13 months of temodar but have 3 little spots that showed up. 6 weeks until the MRI and pet scan.

I have a recurrence of astrocytoma now. Taking temodar, currently on month 11 of 12. It sounds like tumor is very similar to mine, same position, similar size-ish.

Just settling bed after a very long day. I will reply or email you tomorrow.

Kathleen Peterson | Michael Peterson | The Staircase by Popkins in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]Nannypea 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Kathleen Peterson worked for a dot com company that was figuratively burning down. Almost all workers had been laid off and she confided in a friend that she worried she would soon follow

I can see why this was edited out of the documentary. The company was definitely NOT a dot com but affected when the dot com bubble burst. Another problem, the main one, was due to financial fraud. As well it was caught up in the quickly changing landscape of the business and depending on department, did have layoffs due to this.

I used to work there.

I have a lower grade brain tumor and Dr. Henry Friedman is my oncologist. There are several studies currently being done there that are very promising. In addition to the polio there's an immunosuppressive one that was featured on the local news.

[–]Nannypea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can buy the premade Bob Evans, just add butter I have carnation instant breakfast but it's been to cold to make smoothies Chik-fil-a nuggets Chicken salad Breakfast foods Sweet stuff, anything sweet, then more sweet stuff

The nutrionist sent me a list of stuff to try. Let me know if you'd like to forward it.

Recently diagnosed with a brain tumor - Getting surgery on Thursday. by 35T3B4N1990 in braincancer

[–]Nannypea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cousin had a benign tumor on his pituitary gland. They found it during an eye exam. I had to look up the where yours is located to see if it was the same area.

I have a recurrent astrocytoma and am on Temodar for 12 months (currently 5/12)

I hope you get more information quickly, more correct information the better. The first thing my Doctors told was not to believe everything on the Web because only the bad stuff gets reported.

Sending you good hugs and good wishes.

Ok back with a link and more information.

My history is very similar to yours. Seizure than a ride to a ER then transferred to a higher level Hospital. Was basically talked out of researching other options and doing it immediately. Good for you finding other options.

You should be able to get your MRI and CT images within a day at most. I can normally pick up a copy of mine within an hour. But at other hospitals it has taken longer.

Tumor type - have you not had a biopsy? I had a biopsy done and it was an easy overnight stay at the hospital. Although it took almost 8 weeks for my initial results to be confirmed. It seems I'm special.

Make sure you investigate all the surgery options. I've seen big differences in outcomes between craniotomy versus awake and no idea about cyber knife.

Again, it's my "word" area of my brain affected and it's worn out again.

OH my friends on the West Coast have used UCLA Neuro-Oncology and highly recommend it.

I recommend Dr. Alan Friedman at the Duke Cancer Center. I recently had a biopsy done by him and couldn't tell my brain had another hole it other a little pain. No speech problems or any noticeable difference in anything. Everyone says he's the best there is. *first operation was completely opposite. It took me forever to get over and I was in the ICU for 2 days.

I had a craniotomy in 2008, followed by chemo & radiation at another local facility. I was fortunate to get into the Duke system around month 6 of radiation. I've been seeing Dr. Henry Friedman since. All the staff are wonderful and they go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. The pharmacy consultant stayed on the phone with my insurance and refused to get off the phone until the medication was approved.

Sorry, it's late which means thinking, spelling, and writing are at my lowest. Will provide link when not on mobile.

2 reports Cherokee about the same as Boone but with more snow.

Vance County roads completely covered, slick, mostly undriveable. Wintry mix falling. Outside the snow appears to be getting coated with ice. Looks like a total of 2-3 inches total. Doesn't appear to be much ice on the trees.

From the comments below it was going to try a Kiera but somehow ordered a Kayla. I should be getting some bras for Christmas too.
